The two princesses were horrified. They both knew that Nori wouldn't survive for very long out in the sun. If they couldn't stay together in the palace they would both have to leave.

One of the knights of the royal cavalry was in love with Mango. The servant had told her. Now the princesses hatched a top-secret plan of their own.

A couple of days later, Mango managed to catch the young cavalryman when on guard and asked him to help them flee. She wanted him to take her and Nori to the ocean. It had to happen soon. It had to happen at night. He had to swear not to tell anybody.

The young knight was thrilled to help the beautiful princesses.

The following night, a dark figure tiptoed to the royal stables and saddled up a black horse. Very quietly, the man led the horse to the back door of the palace and waited there.

It was just before midnight. He didn't need to wait long.

At midnight, the two princesses slipped out of the back door. The shadows of three people and a horse could be seen only for a moment. Then a cloud covered the moon, and the palace grounds lay in darkness and silence.
