I sat outside on the swing that was hanging from the tree in our back yard. August walked out and sat beside me as he smoked his blunt. I felt him there but I didn't feel the need to speak right now. I turned my head and looked at him while he smoked his blunt. I took it from him and hit it a few times. I started choking.
"Damn girl.. I ain't know you smoked." He said as he took his blunt back.
I blew the smoke out of my mouth forming O's "I don't."
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"How you feeling tho'? like for real."
He looked at me and I got comfortable.. throwing my legs over him.
"Honestly.. I don't feel shit. I'm there but i'm not there."
I thought about it some more.. something that I haven't really had a chance to do. Well.. it's not that I didn't have a chance to do it, I wasn't trying to. I tried to keep it pushed to the back of my head as long as possible. But now, I was getting pissed off.
"How the hell he just gone walk up in there like he know me! Like he's been there all my damn life! He DOESN'T fucking know me!! Neither does that thing he called my mother!"
I said as I stood up.

I watched her as she stood up and looked at her face turn into a bright red color. She was mad as hell and all that was on my mind was bending her over on dis' damn swing.
"Say ma, calm down. You right, they don't know ya' & they never will, but it's no reason to be mad baybeh 'cus it's dey lost. You're an amazin' woman and ya' beautiful. You ain't come out ugly so."
She laughed and I smiled when I seen her dimples.
"Aug, shut up."
"Shit i'm just being honest with ya baby."
She grabbed my face and pulled me into a kiss.
"I can't wait to marry the man I love." She said against my lips.
"I can't wait ta' marry the woman I love." I kissed her back. "Nah, getcho ass upstairs." I smacked her ass and she laughed before running off.
Dat girl was gone be tha' death of me.

After going a few rounds with August, I was laying in the bed when there was knocking on the door. Aug was already down there so after a minute I heard Keem's loud ass. I took that as my cue to take a quick shower and get dressed. Before he came up here talking his shit.
