Jeon Jungkook and the N.E.W.T.'s (Jungkook x Harry Potter AU)

The Announcement

At 11am, Jeon Jungkook, along with his two best friends, Jeon Somi and Park Jihoon, were all seated in a compartment at the Hogwarts Express to head at what their seventh and final year at Hogwarts would be. Somi was already glued to her textbooks, memorizing spells and uses of certain potions. Jihoon, meanwhile, was indulging in sweets from the trolley--the usual Chocolate Frogs, Licorice Wands, Cauldron Cakes, and Drooble's Best Blowing Gum. He didn't fancy Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, as he came across a puss-flavored bean once.

Jungkook sat by the window across the two, quietly munching on his Pumpkin Pasties while thinking of what adventure awaits him at his final year. He appreciated all the scenery before him in the train, as he would probably not see them again for a long time.

"It's Ron Weasley again! Blimey, I get one of him every year," Jihoon groaned while examining his Chocolate Frog Box.

"Do you ever stop eating?" Somi asked, momentarily looking away from her textbook.

"What? I'm hungry!" Jihoon answered. "And besides, I'm really going to miss the trolley. Don't you think about that yet? We're seventh year!"

"I know, but our N.E.W.T.'s are twice harder this year!" Somi said, letting out a frustrated sigh.

"You're already the brightest in our year. You don't have to worry about those," Jihoon said in the midst of chewing his Chocolate Frog. Somi went slightly pink at the compliment. Jungkook watched the two, amused.

"Should we go to Hagrid's tonight?" He said.

"Everytime you say that, you're looking for trouble," Somi said as she closed her textbook shut.

"It's not like you don't join in the trouble," Jihoon said.

Somi rolled her eyes. "Just looking out," She said.

"Well, it's just that after we dropped Care of Magical Creatures, it's doesn't mean... that we should stop learning from him, right? We never knew about the Three-Headed Dog that lived in the castle."

"The dog was put in the castle to guard the Philosopher's Stone. Now that the stone's gone forever, the dog's whereabouts remains undisclosed up to this day," Somi said.

"I would really love to have a go at McGonagall's wicked chess, though," Jihoon said.

McGonagall's transfigured life-sized Wizard's Chess was placed in the chamber where the Philosopher's Stone was once hidden and guarded. The chess set was part of an 'obstacle' a wizard or a witch had to play and win in order to get to the next chamber in which they had to solve a Potions riddle by Severus Snape, and only until then where they finally reach the exact chamber where the stone was kept. Ronald Weasley was the only known wizard that conquered this Wizard's Chess.

"Are the rumors true, though? About the Triwizard Tournament. We'll have it this year, at Hogwarts?" Jungkook asked.

"I guess we'll only find out at the feast tonight," Somi answered.

"Say, it is true. Will you two put your name into the Goblet of Fire?" Jungkook asked.

"A thousand Galleons is a lot of money, but I won't die for it," Jihoon said.

"I'd really rather just watch," Somi said. "You should do it, Kook. I think you have the skills, and not to mention a whole lot of guts."

"Yeah, really," Jihoon said, nodding. "I think you would swoon a lot of witches with your skillful wand play."

Jungkook chuckled sarcastically. "Shut it," He said.

After a whole lot of talking, eating, and more reading by Somi, they finally arrived at Hogsmeade Station. Jungkook thoroughly examined the horseless carriage that would take them to the castle. Somi gave an exasperated sigh.

"You will not see them, Kook. Thestrals are only visible to those who have seen-"

"I know, I know that. Just..."

"They look like horses, too. Except they have wings and are very thin. Their bones are protruding from their bodies. It's a bit of a horrifying sight, to be honest."

They all looked up at the source of the dreamy voice who just described the thestrals. It came from the carriage they were about to take.

"Hi, Shannon," Somi said.

"Long time no see, Gryffindors," Shannon greeted back.

The trio went up to the carriage to join the sixth-year Ravenclaw, Shannon Williams. Jungkook glanced once again at the front of the carriage where the thestral is supposed to be at.

"So, can you really see them?" Jihoon asked Shannon.

"Mm-hm. An aunt of mine was killed by a Devil's Snare in her backyard when I was visiting," Shannon answered, still in her dreamy voice, even in talking about death.

"A Devil's Snare in a backyard!" Somi cried. "Who in the world would do such a barbaric thing?!"

"Someone who probably thought they were being funny," Shannon answered.

"A Devil's Snare isn't something to give as a prank, Shannon," Somi said. "So, were they caught?"

"I didn't know the details, but I think I heard they are still serving sentence in Azkaban," Shannon said.

They soon reached the entrance hall and all of them took the grand staircase towards the Great Hall. The professors and the headmistress were already seated at the front of the Hall. Jungkook, Somi, and Jihoon said goodbye to Shannon as they headed towards the Gryffindor table. The first years were already lining up to prepare for the Sorting Ceremony.

After the Sorting, Headmistress Minerva McGonagall came up to the podium for her start-of-the-term speech.

"First Years, welcome to Hogwarts! To the rest, welcome back! This Year will not only be a Year of Academics and Sports for our school, but a year of celebration and solidarity as well!"

Every student in the Great Hall started gasping and murmuring amongst themselves. Jungkook stared at the headmistress, wide-eyed. The rumors may have been true, after all.

"Hogwarts will once again host the Triwizard Tournament!" McGonagall exclaimed.
