Jungkook and Jihoon had the rest of the day for themselves while Somi had Ancient Runes. They spent their free time in the common room, trying to do their Potions essay.
Jihoon grumbled while writing a draft essay on a used parchment. Jungkook read his Potions book while his parchment lied flat on a table, trying not to copy exactly what the book said.
The portrait door swung open and James Sirius Potter came through.
"Hey," Jihoon greeted. James waved his hand and slouched on an armchair across them.
"How're you catching up, seventh years?" James asked.
"Doomed with Potions essay," answered Jungkook.
"Potions... Not my favorite, either," James said gloomily.
"Are there even no Quidditch training?" Jungkook asked.
"Oh, the pitch will be used for the Tournament."
"Really?"
"Oh, I don't think I'm supposed to say that, but whatever," James said nonchalantly.
Jungkook and Jihoon glanced at each other, then at James.
"Hagrid told me, alright?" James said to the two. "He thought it was okay to tell me since no Gryffindor is a champion. Anyway, he's preparing something for the first task. Must be ready by next month."
"That's... Tomorrow," Jihoon said.
"Hey, Potter," Jungkook said, shifting in his seat to face him better. "What did your father do during the tournament?"
James raised an eyebrow. "Howd'ya know that?"
Jungkook tried not to look abashed, so he merely shrugged and glanced at Jihoon for some guidance, but the latter simply stared at the ceiling.
"Oh, yeah, I was talking about it with the others after the feast, right?" James said. "It's not like it's a secret. Old copies of The Daily Prophet with lots of articles about that are still kept in the library. Anyway, the first task was to face a dragon."
"You're kidding?" Jungkook said.
"That's about my reaction too when I heard about it," James said.
"How was it?" Jihoon asked.
"Err, they were to retrieve this Golden Egg that the dragon guarded. Dad summoned his Firebolt broomstick and flew all around the pitch 'til he got it."
"Brilliant," Jihoon said.
James stretched out his arms and legs then stood up.
"The Triwizard then was a nightmare, apparently," James said. "I think it's jinxed from the beginning. I can only cross my fingers that nothing will happen this year."
After dinner, Jungkook, Somi, and Jihoon were doing their essays at the common room in their favorite area by the fireplace. Dahyun sat with them while scanning through her Advanced Potion-Making textbook. Most Gryffindors were still hanging out in the room, and Fred and Roxanne Weasley's group were feeding innocent-looking First Year's with various sweets from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
The portrait door swung open, revealing their Head of House and Herbology Professor, Neville Longbottom, coming through.
"Evening!" he said loudly. Everyone in the common room went silent and turned to him.
"First task of the Tournament will be on the 24th of November at 9am, Quidditch Pitch. Spread the word!" he said, and before wheeling back to the portrait hole, his eyes beamed at something.
