E.V.A.

The bell rings and everyone gathers their things, leaving in a hurry.

Romeo said goodbye and left with Zachary, Watson, and Blake, leaving his notebook behind.

I grab it and dash from the room, trying to catch up with him.

The hallway comes to a complete standstill, everyone with their phones out. I try to stand on my tiptoes and see what the fuss is about but many people tower over my 5'6' frame.

I wiggle my way through, person by person, until I'm at the front of the crowd. The person I've been chasing after is repeatedly slamming his fist into a guy's mouth. Blood pours from his lips as he tries to fight back.

Watson and Zachary try to get Romeo off of him, but he won't relent. Blake is on the phone, running his hand over his face, looking annoyed.

I can't be here.

"If you ever talk about my brother again, I'll fucking kill you! Do you understand, you little bitch?!" Romeo booms, causing another part of me to try and claw it's way out.

It can't. I won't let it.

I've done enough.

I whip around, now pushing my way out of the crowd, heading to class.

Where I should have went in the first place.

But I didn't and now I know, my dreams will be filled with them.

I walk into math class, clutching my supplies.

"Miss Newton, please sit in the back row beside Malcolm. Malcolm raise your hand," A short, black haired, woman commands.

A handsome, dark skin, man raises his hand with a polite smile. I walk towards him and I spot Zachary Kline sitting on the opposite side of me.

I slide into my seat, taking out Romeo's black notebook. "Hey guys, I'm Ev-"

Zachary smirks. "I know you. My mom talks about you and your family all the time and how much she adores you. Sometimes I think she likes you more than me."

I smile. "She probably does. No offense."

"Well your dad loves me more," He says, chewing the eraser on his pencil.

"That, I can agree with," I laugh.

Malcolm shakes his head, holding his hand out. "I'm Malcolm."

"Evangeline," I say, shaking his hand.

"The Dad of this school," Zachary says, winking.

"How many times d-" Malcolm starts to say but Zachary cuts him off.

He waves his hand in front of his face, shaking his long blonde locks. "Sorry, I know you prefer, Daddy."

I giggle, rolling in my bottom lip with my teeth.

Malcolm goes to argue but Alexandria struts in and he goes silent, eyes trained on her.

Zachary smirks, whispering. "Please sit beside Malcolm. Please sit beside Malcolm. Please beside Malcolm-"

"Alexandria, go to the back row, beside Malcolm."

"Oh, hell yes," Zachary laughs, earning a glare from Malcolm.

I raise a brow, tilting my head towards Zachary. "What's that about?"

"He likes Ale-"

"NOTHING!" Malcolm shouts as Alexandria takes her seat.
