R.O.M.E.O.
"Well, why is it football?" Blair asks, frowning.
"I don't know." I say, shrugging. "People like football."
"But why?" She asks. "It's so dumb."
"Then why are you here?" Alex asks, rolling her eyes.
Blair puts her hand on my shoulder, a firm grip. "I'm supporting Romee."
Evie raises her brows. "Romee, isn't playing."
Blair's eyes widen. "I'm the only one who can call him that."
"Sorry, you can keep it," Evie says, holding her hands up in mock surrender.
Blair huffs and turns back to the field.
Alex laughs, pushing Evie's shoulder. "Watch out."
I turn back to the field, Watson backing up. He throws the ball, but is immediately sacked.
The crowd gasps at the loud smack and Watson goes flying backward. His helmet hits the ground and his back lands hard.
Zach clutches the ball, running towards the end zone. The other team tries to catch him , but his speed is harsh. He runs into the end zone, throwing the ball down and smacking his chest.
"TOUCHDOWN!"
He then spots Watson and runs toward him as the paramedics crouch down next to him. He takes his helmet off, running his hands over his face.
Watson lifts his hand and curls it into a fist, knocking it with Zach's.
I get up, handing the umbrella to Evie. "I have to get down to him."
"I'm coming too," She says, concern on her face.
Alex and Malcolm stand up, jogging behind us. Blair follows, a frown on her face.
The rain doesn't stop, caring less about about our situation. Evie treads carefully beside me, Blair on the other.
Crowds of people block our view as we try to push through them.
"Ugh!" Blair screams, pushing people out of the way.
"Let me get on your neck," I hear behind me.
I turn around to see Alex climbing on Malcolm's neck as he stares at the ground, mouth and eyes wide.
"He's sitting up," She says, as I turn back around.
Blair's no longer beside me.
I twist my neck from side to side, searching for her.
I see her running next to Evie, a smirk on her face.
What's she doing with her?
Her foot sticks out, causing Evie to trip and fall into mud. Blair covers her mouth as Evie shrieks in horror.
"What the fuck, Blair?!" Evie screams, eyes flaring with rage.
"Put me down!" Alex roars behind me.
"No can do. You're not killing anyone today," Malcolm says, flipping Alex over his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry, Eve!"
My teeth grins together, anger simmering. I glare at Blair as I walk to Evie.
Mud coats her entire front. I grab her hand, pulling her up.
The tears in her eyes make something inside me snap.
Our free hands clench into fists.
"Why would you do that?!" I yell.
