The pep rally just ended and I'm walking back to my room, paying more attention to my phone than where I'm going. I accidentally bump into a pretty , curly haired, girl walking towards me. My phone slides out of my hand, landing on the floor with a loud smack.

"Damn it," I say, picking up the rectangular device, examining it.

I look up at the girl once I know my phone is fine. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

She smiles at me, her onyx eyes twinkling. "No big deal. I'm Blair."

"Evangeline," I say, surveying the girl. She's the one from the pep rally that was with Alex and Romeo.

She's pretty, gorgeous really, like everyone else at this school. Short, small waist, round hips, and a gorgeous pillow of dark brown, almost black, curls. She was exotic looking, drawing me in with her eyes. It was almost unsettling.

Unsettling to the point where I almost missed the same silver locket as Natalia, dangling from her neck. "Popular necklace?"

She looks down and smiles, clutching the locket. "Romeo bought it for me. He's really sweet and he knows me so well. It's perfect."

I think of the curly haired boy, wondering if he got the same necklace for his sister and girlfriend.

Weird.

I push the thought away. "So, I'm guessing you're Natalia's friend."

"Best friend," She emphasizes.

I nod, my mind drifting back to Romeo. Why do I keep thinking about him? I don't even know him.

"Well, it's nice to meet you," She smiles, then glides away, humming an unfamiliar song.

I look down at my phone.

1:13 PM.

Deciding that I should go unpack my things, I head for my room.

As I walk in, Alexandria gives me a wave from the couch. Her long silver hair is dripping wet and I noticed she switched her clothes to some shorts and a camisole, showing off her curvaceous hips.

She's watching TV, so I decide to leave her alone. I walk in my undecorated room, unzipping some of my bags and putting things away. I put the picture frame on the nightstand beside my bed.

Once I'm finished, I grab my phone, facetiming Grace.

Milo's caramel face fills my phone screen. "EVA!"

I smile, missing his cute face. "Hey, Milo! What you guys doing?"

Grace comes to the camera. "Milo, did you answer my phone again?"

"I saw Eva! Mommy, she really called us!" He screams, putting his face in the camera. "I seeee youuu."

I laugh, my heart beating faster than normal. I really miss them.

"I seeee you too, Milo."

"Arlo said he sees you too, Eva!" Milo exclaims, jumping up and down.

I gasp, pretending to be shocked. "No way! I thought he couldn't see me!"

Grace kisses the top of his head, hugging him to her. "My little Milo."

"I'm not little, mommy! I'm a big kid!"

"Absolutely, but you'll always be my baby."

"But what about when I grow up," He asks, looking genuinely confused.

I shake my head. "Milo, Milo, Milo."

"Whaaatttt?" He asks.

"Nothing."
