Andy checked her phone for the seventh time in the last four minutes. There was not one text or call from Eliot. The last time she heard from Eliot, he said dinner at eight would be okay for him. Andy texted him the location of the restaurant she made reservations for and he replied back with a yes.

It was now a quarter to nine o'clock and there was no sign of Eliot.

Andy sipped on her wine, checking her watch for the time. There was no way in hell this man was making her wait this long without telling her. There was also no way in hell that Andy would sit at that table any longer looking like she had been stood up.

She decided to try to call him. It went to voicemail.

"Eliot Spencer, if you think for one second that I am okay with being stood up at dinner then you're wrong. I wanted to discuss something important with you tonight." She spoke calmly into the phone. She didn't want to attract anymore unwanted glances by cussing him out and yelling. "I'm going to go to a bar, drink, make some friends, and I will be at the hotel when I decide to be. We can talk when I get back."

She ended the call and started to stand when someone came up beside her and put their hand on her arm.

"Don't make a scene." Scott whispered into her ear, then he leaned in and kissed her cheek. He was doing it for show. There were a couple tables around Andy that had been waiting and watching to see if whoever she was waiting for would show up. "Sit down and let's chat."

Andy hesitated, remaining on her feet as she watched Scott sit down across from her.

"I've got men at every entrance, Andy." Scott told her firmly "Sit."

She locked her jaw as she sat down.

"I spoke to my boss. He said killing you might not be necessary."

"Oh good." Andy faked a sigh of relief.

"You're cute." Scott rolled his eyes at her.

The waiter came up to the table and took their orders. Andy was starving and figured if she was going to die, she'd do it with a full stomach. After the waiter moved away, Scott poured himself a glass of expensive wine and started to talk.

"My boss is a very generous man. After I explained to him that killing you would do nothing to get him what he wants, he agreed with me."

"And what exactly did you explain to him?"

"That you hate your sister's guts and if we tried to hold you against her, she wouldn't bend. You two are like strangers."

Andy glanced around the room. It was too full for her to make a scene. There were too many people.

"You even think about doing something stupid and my guys will start with the familiy just off to my left behind me." Scott spoke harshly to her but his voice was quiet. He was careful. "Then they'll move on to the newlywed couple beside us."

"What do you want from me, Scott?"

He brushed his fingers along his glass and pursed his lips for a few moments.

"In all seriousness Andy, I miss you."

Andy sat back in the chair and laughed.

"It's a little too late for that, Scott."

"It's never too late—,"

"It is after you shot me twice!" She hissed at him. "You tried to kill me!"

"I was just following orders, Andy. I beat myself up every day for doing that to you. You should never have had to go through it."

Andy dropped her gaze down to her wine glass.
