Andy locked the doors to her rental and made her way towards the restaurant. The stench of the seafood was enough to make her gag even outside of the building. She had to stop and hold her hand over her nose. Her stomach was churning.
"Oh, poor dear." An elderly woman walking out of the restaurant with her husband spoke to Andy.
"Don't like seafood, do you?" The husband asked.
"No. But it never gets me like this." Andy shook her head gently and hunched over with her hands on her knees. "I feel like...."
"Throwing up?" The woman suggested. Andy nodded her head. "I was exactly like that too when I was pregnant. Couldn't stand the smell of anything really."
"Oh no." Andy shook her head. "I'm not pregnant. It's just a bug."
"Oh alright. I hope you feel better, sweetheart."
Andy watched as the old couple moved away. She wasn't pregnant. There was no way. It was just a stomach bug.
"Of course I get a stomach bug while on vacation." She mumbled to herself as she trekked on into the restaurant. "And of course my psychotic ex is forcing me to have lunch with him. I'm the luckiest woman in the world."
"You're talking to yourself." Scott said as she sat down across from him.
"You drive me insane." Andy put her elbow on the table and held her hand to her nose. "Did we have to come here? It's bad enough I'm forced to come out here with you—,"
"I am not forcing you to do anything, Andy." Scott was quick to cut her off and correct her. "I gave you a choice. You're the one who chose to be here."
"Because I—!" Andy stopped herself from yelling anymore. A few restaurant-goers casted questioning glances in their direction. "Because I love my father and I do not want anything to happen to him."
Scott watched her for a few moments before pouring wine into Andy's glass glass.
"So have you put much thought into what we spoke about yesterday?"
"I spent a lot of the night throwing up."
"Don't be so dramatic."
"I'm not, Scott. That's why I feel like vomiting now. The smell of this place is making me nauseous and giving me a headache."
A man in a suit stopped at the table and leaned down to whisper something into Scott's ear.
"Shit." He cursed, standing to his feet. "Spencer's here."
Andy stood up too but grabbed Scott's arm.
"Go." She spoke through clenched teeth. "Before he sees."
Scott smirked and kissed her cheek then turned and went towards the kitchen. Andy looked around before tucking her skirt and sitting back down at the table.
"Thought you said you were staying at the hotel today." Eliot's hand found her back and he moved to sit in the chair next to her. "You didn't feel good this morning."
"Hey to you too." She smiled and leaned over to give him a soft kiss. "I didn't and I still don't." She sighed softly. "But I figured if we were in the area I'd hang out with some old friends."
"Oh yeah?" Eliot glanced around. "Where are they?"
"She can't make it." Andy answered with a frown, looking to her phone. "Just got the text."
Eliot nodded his head.
"Since when do you like seafood?"
"She likes it and said it was nice." Andy shrugged her shoulders gently. She furrowed her brows together and leaned towards him. "Are you following me?"
