Superhero Mo

II - First Encounter of the Superhero Kind

GRUMBLING UNDER HER BREATH as she made her way back to the set location with a bag full of not-quite-so-junky food her picky employer was craving for, Mae was listing down ways she can dismember the handsome superstar of one of today's top billing television series in the country. Of course number one on her list was to ask for Valor's help to dispose of her annoying employer and perhaps Valor can then takeover as the lead in Superhero Mo; Mae definitely won't mind working for Valor if that ever happens.

But of course Valor being Valor, he won't strike Alex Valdez dead since the guy didn't do anything bad – except treat her like crap ever since her first day and thanks to her clumsiness, she ended up spilling the entire contents of the caramel macchiato that his manager, Annie, asked her to buy for her (Mae doesn't even know why she became errand girl for Alex's prima donna manager, but she did that day anyway).

Was that reason enough for Alex to turn in to the biggest prick ever to walk the face of this wonderful planet we call Earth? She doubts he was born that way. She has seen him interact with the staff and crew of the show, he was only a prick to her but to everyone else he was Mr. Friendly, even to his manager whom she knows he doesn't like very much if his body languages was anything to go with whenever Annie Sanchez was around.

Mae was almost to the location parking lot when her phone buzzed, the personalized text tone she assigned specifically for Alex jolted her out of her reverie. Fishing her phone out of her shoulder bag, she read his text:

A-HOLE B: Matagal ka pa ba?

"Talaga lang ha?" Mae huffed, irritated at the underlying tone of the message he sent. "Para kasing ang dali-daling mabili ng mga inutos mong bilhin ko no," she grumbled as she typed her text reply.

MAE: Malapit na.

A-HOLE B: How long? Nagugutom nako e.

"Bakit hindi ka kumain ng dala nung catering?" Of course she didn't type that response even though she was tempted to. And she already knew he won't eat what the caterers served that was why she was sent on this errand to grab him food he likes. They were serving dishes that never whetted Alex's palate and never will since it wasn't appetizing enough for him.

MAE: Merong cookies na dala ko. Eat those for now.

She loves to bake, especially when she has the time. Since they were sent home early two days in a row, Mae has had time to bake some cookies and muffins to bring with her to munch on while sitting around waiting for Alex to finish his shoot and other events scheduled for him to attend to for the day. But since he landed the lead in Superhero Mo his other engagements became few and far in-between, especially the out of town engagements because of the amount of time he was needed on the set to shoot and reshoot certain scenes.

A-HOLE B: Nag-bake ka?

MAE: Yeah. I put some out for you to munch on.

A-HOLE B: Where? I can't find it.
