ERIC WAS STILL WRAPPING HIS head around the fact that not only was Alex from another planet (which he already knew, duh!) but he was also a freaking royalty and the one next in line to the throne!
And the two beautiful women working as servers at the cafe?
They were his freaking older sisters who were sent here along with him by their parents in order to protect them from being executed by the revolutionaries from their home planet. They ended up crash landing on different parts of the planet and took a better part of their adult life searching for each other; Lizzie and Eliza quickly recognized each other since they were both already older when they were sent here. Alex, on the other hand, was still a toddler thus his memory of his sisters and parents were foggy at best. But by some miraculous twist of fate, the siblings were reunited and reconnected (Eliza had to do some of her alien voodoo on Alex to jog his memory from way back when), and those revolutionaries from Inio knew they landed here on Earth and was now after them to finish them off once and for all.
"So, those two attacks at the cafe, kayo yung target?" Eric looked back and forth between the two women seated on either side of his hospital bed. He was left under their care after Mae left and Alex offered to walk her to the elevator.
"Yeah, unfortunately," Lizzie pouted, leaning back in her seat and crossing her arms and legs.
"We've been throwing those Tnegsurins off our trail on and off since we arrived here," Eliza explained.
"Guess you guys didn't thrown them off hard enough," Eric muttered, earning him a scathing glare from Eliza.
"We wanted to buy us some more time to find our gnagut," she hissed.
"I'm not at all familiar with your language, but I'm taking a wild stab at guessing that the word you just used refers to Alex, right?"
"You got it," Lizzie batted her lashes at him accompanied by an impish smile.
"Okay, so now that you're reunited with your brother, ano nang plano nyo?" He looked from one woman to the other, waiting for either one of them to give him an answer.
"Ensure his safety and ensure that his true identity as the next Inkosi is kept hidden from the Tnegsurins," Eliza deadpanned.
"Again I have no idea what that word means, but taking yet another wild guess here, it has something to do with taking over leadership of your home planet?" Eric hazarded a guess that he hoped won't earn him further skewering glares from the eldest of the two sisters.
"Wow, Eric, you're learning fast," cheered Lizzie.
Eric gave the youngest of the two women a faint smile. "How are you going to do that? I mean, don't you have your own families to go back to?"
"Both our adoptive parents passed away already," Eliza answered. "We can do whatever we please and stay wherever we want."
