*Your P.O.V.*

It was Thursday, which meant it was game day. I texted Pete that day to see if he was coming, and he said he was. Everything was great. We were picked to win this game, and my good luck charm planned to be there. I didn't get to see him much that day though, which wasn't abnormal, but sometimes the principal makes them got to class. Those are the best days. I don't get to look much, but it's those little glances that I got to steal that made my heart happy.

Later that night, just before the game I got a good luck text from Pete. With that, I played one of the best games in my career, and after it was over, I went out to the parking lot, excited to sneak into Pete's car.

When I got out there, though, Pete's car wasn't hiding in the shadows. It wasn't there at all. I frowned and texted him, hanging around some of the other girls until they all went home. I genuinely started to get worried until I got a random phone call.

Still stressing about Pete, I quickly picked it up, "Hello?"

"(Y/N)?" Pete whispered on the other line.

" Pete, where the hell are you? Are you okay?" I panicked.

"I'm at the police department," he continued to whisper.

"YOU'RE WHERE?" I practically screamed.

"SHHH," he quickly hushed me.

"What the hell? Why are you whispering?" I asked.

"Michael is here. I don't want him to know I'm calling you," he explained in a low voice. "I need you to come get me but not in your car. I need you to go to the mall and get my car and then come get me."

"Pete, that's all the way across town," I argued.

"Please, my windows are tinted, and you can't be seen picking me up," he argued.

"Yeah, okay, I'll come get you," I agreed.

"Okay, I'll see you soon. They're just about to release us," he said just before hanging up.

I sighed and put my stuff into my car, trying to figure out how this relationship was ever going to work.
