Chapter Eleven

*Your P.O.V.*

A couple days went by. I hadn't spoken to Pete since that day behind the gym. I hadn't really talked to anyone since. Stan and Kyle would talk to be, and I replied- but neither of them knew. I hadn't told anyone about the split. It was supposed to be a secret in the first place, so why talk about it now?

"Earth to (Y/N)," Kyle said, waving his hand in front of my face.

"Huh? What?" I asked.

"What's up with you?" Stan asked. "Pete rub off on you?"

"Yeah, you're acting a lot like Pete as of late. Are you okay?" Kyle asked.

I glanced between the two of them, nervous to say anything, but they needed to know. "Look, Pete," I took a deep breath, collecting myself, "Pete and I, we—"

My words came to a halt, however, when a boy walked into the room wearing blue jeans, an army green shirt, a black beanie, and an unzipped black hoodie.

Oh my god.

"Pete?" I questioned.

He smiled and gave me a nod before making his way over to my desk.

"What the fuck are you doing? What are you wearing?" I asked, concerned for his health.

"Well, I get that is not great looking, but it's what I could pull together for the time being. I plan to go shopping after school. Where do you guys usually get your stuff?" he asked, looking to Stan and Kyle.

"Uhhhh, American Eagle," Kyle hesitantly answered.

"Hold on, what the fuck is going on?" I asked.

Kyle shrugged, and Pete moved his gaze to me.

"What are you doing?" I repeated. "Why are you here in class and not behind the school? What are you wearing?"

"I told Michael. I'm not part of the Goths anymore." He shrugged.

My eyes widened, and my heart stopped. "You did not. Pete you idiot."

"No (Y/N), this is for the better. You- we- can be happy now," Pete smiled.

His smiled scared me. That wasn't his usual sly smirk nor was it his bashful smile. He was smiling like Kyle or Stan would. It was so unnatural.

"Over my dead body," I replied, getting out of my desk and leaving the room.
