just a nightmare

morning

Kaneki is in the torture room, again, he can hear Rize's laugh, the snaps of his fingers being cut one by one, the pain so unbearable. The sound of one hundred legs crawling inside his ear, making him even madder then he already is.

"All your fault."

That's all Rize said as he sees all of his friends being killed and he is unable to do a thing.

"N-no... I didn't mean to..."Kaneki whimpered as he was chained on the chair.

"Fufufu how pitiful..." Then another snap was heard, but the pain didn't come, because it wasn't from his own fingers but from someone else's.

"You can't do anything, you know why?" Kaneki reminds silent.

"Because you were weak, nothing more than a pathetic, weak, monster."

"No... I-I c-couldn't." Kaneki sobbed.

"You couldn't what kaneki?"

"I couldn't save them"

In the real world

Touka was woken up by a sob. Kaneki was mumbling something and whining softly, while he was sleeping.

She knew Kaneki was having nightmares, but that was the first time she saw him like that.

"I didn't mean to..." Touka herd Kaneki say that quietly under his breath.

'uh-oh' Touka tougth. She had seen Kaneki loose control over himself and was saying the same things.
She shakes him lightly to wake him up, but without scaring him.

"Kaneki wake up." She whispers, but to have no response. Kaneki starts to shake instead.

"I-I couldn't." He sobs again.

"Kaneki wake up, come one everything is going to be fine. You're okay."

And just when she thinks it'll be no use of trying to wake him up gently, his eyes shoot open and he jumps shaking and sweating.

He was about to have a panic attack but suddenly he feels the warmth. Touka had hugged him lightly but still firmly and was running her hand true his back to calm him down.

After a minute Kaneki relaxed under her touch.

"T-Touka?" He says like he doesn't believe that she's there.

"Don't worry Kaneki everything's okay." She says gently.

Kaneki reminds calm now and moves under the sheets."Sorry for waking you up." He says under his breath.

"You don't have what to be sorry about, but can you tell me what was that all about?"

"...it was nothing..."

"That now is bullshit, Kaneki please tell me what's wrong."

"It...it was just a nightmare."

"Well it's over now and it's not real, are you able to go back to sleep?"

"..."

"Come on lay here I'll be by your side all night ok? We'll talk about it tomorrow."Kaneki kept silent.

Touka lay him and herself on the bed and hugged him.

"There is nothing to worry about"

And just like that, they both fell asleep again.

On the morning

Kaneki wakes up feeling warm feeling over his chest and when he opened his eyes he sees Touka curled right next to him.

The rest of the night had been nice, he didn't have nightmares.

Touka wakes from the little movement from her boyfriend. She sees that he's awake and smiles at him."Good morning."

Kaneki smiles back. "Good morning Touka."

"You alright?"

"Y-Yeah"

The Anteiku rate really got bad on Kaneki he wasn't really himself lately, no he didn't remind cold but sadder. The manager, Koma, and irimi died. Touka had bearly saved him from death and he was still blaming himself for every thing.

"Hey, Kaneki?"

"Hmm?"

"Will you tell me what this is all about?"

"What do you mean"

"Do you still think like... You know"

"....Y-Yeah..."

*Sight*

"Kaneki what is this all about, I mean first you left us to join Aogiry after they kidnapped and tortured you, then I find you barely breathing and now you're acting like this I... Just wanna know what's wrong." That was a silly question. Kaneki had gone true hell, of course, he would be messed up.

"I..."

Kaneki wasn't sure what to say at this moment. He didn't want to.

"I just don't want to stay by not being able to do anything. You saw what happens to Yoshimura and the others... To Rioko. I wasn't strong enough and now Hanami is without mother."

"That's not what this is all about, is it?"

"I guess not."

"What are the nightmares about?"

"Eh?"

"I noticed the others to but this one was worst wasn't it"

"Y-Yeah..."

"Mind if you tell me what it was about"

"...M-My torture... And how you were on my place."

"Kaneki I know it's hard for you, but you need to tell me what happens back at the time with Jason."

He looked at her should he really tell her. After all, she was the only person with him at the moment. Kaneki took a breath and decided to tell her what happened.
