In the shadows not to far from the sleeping crowd, were two dark figures standing next to the shiny, streaming river.
"So..is that storm still driving in?"
"Yes Captain, this surely buys enough time for it to hit."
The Captain then threw a stone, having it skip plenty of times to blur their reflection, and replied in a soft tone, "Good, it better not fail, I paid you one fairly expensive amount to assure me this."
And the two shadows parted ways, one of them releasing a messaging bird into the dark.
