Kaitlyn's POV

Nothing much happened in the next nine weeks leading up to the birth of the twins. Shawn was gone the first week of July but he was a able to spend the rest of the time with me. He invited some friends over to catch up while we were in Toronto. I realized that I didn't know half of them. Shawn had to introduce me to most of them. They all had pretty much the same things to say to me.

"So you're the famous Kaitlyn."

"He would talk about you like you were an angel."

"You're all he would talk about."

I always responded with a smile and a nod. Then Shawn would come over and start talking to them. It repeated a bit.

"Where did you meet them all?" I asked when I finally had a moment alone with Shawn.

"After 9th grade. I hung out with them at school after you graduated."

"Apparently you talked about me a lot." Shawn laughed, scratching the back of his neck.

"Way too much, according to most people. They asked me if you were even real and if I made you up so people wouldn't think that I was gay or lonely or something. You are also the reason why most of my 'girlfriends' never stayed with me long. They found out you were real and they got scared of you because of how perfect you are." I smiled.

"Sorry for smiling but that's-" I chuckled and looked away.

"It's fine. I got my angel in the end." I looked back and Shawn's lips automatically brushed against mine in a soft kiss. "Oh hey, I have a show in New York in about a week for Spotify. It's supposed to be more of a secret show. You can come if you're feeling up to it." I nodded.

I later looked at the clock to see that it was almost 9. I walked over to Shawn. He was in the middle of a conversation, so I waited until he was done and he looked at me with a small smile.

"Hey, I'm gonna go to sleep. I'm getting really sleepy."

"Oh, do you want them to leave? I can make them leave."

"No, it's okay. You guys have fun." Shawn smiled and started walking me to the bedroom. He tucked me in and I smiled at him as he walked out of the room.

A few days passed after that. I was woken up by Shawn on July 15th. He had a big smile plastered on his face. I was confused.

"What is it? Why do you have that huge smile on your face?"

"Come on. Where do you wanna go? I'll take you."

"What's special about today?"

"It's your birthday, Kaitie."

"Is it really? Well I'm glad one of us remembered. I better text Louis."

"Can you do it after breakfast? I put it on trays so we could eat in bed." I smiled.

"Sure." Shawn came in with some trays and he set one on my lap. The pancakes were a perfect circle and I noticed the utensils were black plastic and the butter and syrup were in McDonald's containers.

"Shawn?" I asked softly.

"Yes?" He jumped into bed.

"Did you just have Uber eats get us some McDonald's?" He looked over at me with wide eyes and his bottom lip in his mouth.

"Well I thought about how last time you ate food that I made, you kind of threw up, so I figured this would be better." I grinned and glanced at Shawn's lips. I leaned towards him and placed a kiss on his lips. When a pulled away he hummed and gave me another short kiss.

We really did nothing else for the rest of the day. It was the most chill birthday I had ever had and probably one of the best.

What fast approached was Shawn's birthday. It seemed like only a few days had passed. We had been anxiously waiting for something to happen with the babies for the past week. And now it was the due date and also Shawn's birthday. We were with Shawn's family before he had to leave for his next venue. We didn't do much for his birthday either except sing to him. His family gave him presents. He looked like he was having fun, but I could tell he was definitely stressing. We had been talking about what we do if he is in another country when I go into labor. I figured that if he was in another country I could just call Louis and tell him to get Shawn and bring him here.

I felt a sharp pain in my back and I sat up straight and placed my hand where it hurt. Shawn scooted closer to me and put his hand on my back, up closer to my neck.

"Are you alright?" I waited a second and nodded my head.

Shawn left later that day. He Skyped me when he got his destination. We determined that Louis needs to stay by Shawn just in case the babies come. The call ended and I texted Louis. The problem was that Louis could only transport himself to places he had been to before. He had never been to that venue. I told Louis to communicate with Shawn about it.

"Why aren't you staying at home, Kaitlyn?" my mom asked.

"Because I don't want Aaliyah to feel alone. She's my sister-in-law now. I feel an obligation to bring her company."

"That's not all, is it?"

"No, it's also because I need help
