Kaitlyn's POV

I woke up on the next Sunday and threw my arm over to Shawn's side of the bed. I didn't feel anything. I smelled breakfast. It raised me out of bed. I half-waddled into the living room. I saw Shawn cooking some breakfast.

"Shawn," I said. He turned and smiled at me.

"Good morning beautiful." I gave a sleepy smile. "I want to go visit my mom today. Do you want to come with?" I nodded. "Okay cool. But first, I have something for you. You get it after you eat breakfast."

"Why are you being so giving today?"

"It's Mother's Day, Kaitie. You're a mother-to-be, so I took it upon myself to get you a gift." My heart jumped.

"Shawn," I dragged out. He smiled at me.

"Eat."

"Okay."

I took a bite of the pancakes and almost gagged. The scrambled eggs were runny and the bacon was undercooked. Shawn stared at me. I slowed down my chewing. Shawn pressed his lips together. I painfully swallowed the food. I blinked back tears. My stomach contracted and I stood up and ran towards the bathroom. I threw up on the counter. Shawn put his hand on my back. Tears flowed from my eyes. I stood up and wiped my mouth with a paper towel.

"I'm sorry that my breakfast made you sick."

"No, I loved it..." Shawn raised his eyebrows. "Okay, fine. It was horrible. But I loved the gesture and it was really sweet of you to take your time out to do that and-"

"Kaitie, Kaitie." He grabbed my arms. I looked into his eyes. "I'm in love with you."

"I know."

"I love you so much. I will always love you."

"Shawn?"

"Do you want to visit your mom today?"

I turned and threw up again. I started shaking. I had nothing left in me. I wiped my mouth again. Tears didn't stop flowing. Shawn pulled me close to him.

"Kaitlyn, are you okay?" He asked calmly. I feel like his voice got deeper.

"You were right."

"I don't understand. Right about what?"

"That's not my mom. It's not her. My mom is loving and gentle. I didn't want to accept it but she is not my mother and I will not go see someone that has not only tried to kill me and my babies, but my mother as well. She has turned my knowledge of my mom into a monster and I just want my mom back."

"Does that mean you don't want to go see her?"

"If I don't, she is going to realize something is up."

"So we should?" I nodded.

Shawn left a few days later because he was recording a video for a song. He had been gone for about 25 minuets when I got a call from Andrew. I answered it.
