Chapter 4---Ya Lying
*Sam's P.O.V.*Texas was up by 2, and there were 30 seconds left until the end of the game. Right now, Texas had the ball, and they were just about to score. The whole arena was cheering or booing, so as you can probably guess, Lexie was cheering, and I was booing.
Just as the Longhorns' point guard went up for a three pointer, one of the Husker guys knocked it away, causing them to get the ball. He sprinted down the quart and stopped at the three point line to shoot and score. Lexie started booing just as the buzzer went off. Game over. The score ended up being 54-52.
"Better dig out your money for the supper you bet me!" I yelled over the noise.
"They only won because it's your birthday." She scoffed, smiling slightly.
"They didn't know." I retorted, chuckling.
"Yeah, I called them." She lied.
"Whatever." I laughed. "Now let's go, I'm hungry."
"Do we have to get supper now?" Lexie whined. "I'm just so tired. How about we do it tomorrow afternoon?"
"Fine." I groaned, walking down the crowded steps, and pretending to be mad.
Lexie and I made our way back to the parking lot, and after ten minutes of searching for our car, we finally found it.
"I'm so cold." Lexie shivered, hopping into the passenger's seat.
"Put my sweatshirt on." I suggested, starting the car, and blasting the heat.
"I don't want to get it all dirty on the inside from my paint." She explained.
"It's no big deal." I smiled, backing out of the parking spot.
When we got to our hotel, Lexie pulled out all of the papers that she must have printed from online at home. At the front desk, the employee was scrambling about, trying to find the right words to use in this situation.
"What do you mean there has been a mistake?" Lexie asked, trying to keep her voice down.
"One of our staff must have given your room to someone else." The manager stated.
"What?!" Lexie gasped.
"We can give you your money back and get you a smaller room. There are no more rooms with two double beds." The manager explained.
Lexie looked over at me, mentally asking if that would work.
I nodded in response, standing up from one of the comfy chairs by the tv.
"That'll work." Lexie shrugged.
"Your room is 206, on the second floor." The manager said, handing over two room keys.
"Thank you." Lexie smiled, walking off towards the elevator with me in tow.
"Sorry about the uh sleeping arrangements." Lexie apologized once we got in the elevator.
"It's fine!" I smiled. "Don't worry about it. All that matters is that Nebraska won."
She smiled, clearly not having enough energy to say anything.
When we got to our door, Lexie slid the key in, and opened it to reveal one king bed, a bathroom, a tv, and a desk. At least the bed was a king. I set my bag down on the side of the bed that I would claim, while Lexie set her bag down on the opposite side.
"You gonna shower first?" I asked, noticing her gathering her pajamas and stuff.
"Yeah, if that's alright with you. I'll hurry." She said, walking into the bathroom.
