Chapter 7---First Sober Kiss
*Sam's P.O.V.*
Early this morning, even with my terrible hangover, I woke up at 7 to workout. I ran to the gym, lifted some weights, and ran back home. After showering, I went to the flower shop to pick up a bouquet of a dozen red roses. The decorator at the shop put them in a tall, clear glass with a red bow around it for me.
Now, I was on my way to Lexie's house. I figured she'd still be asleep, so I planned on leaving the flowers on the counter. After three knocks on her front door, her mom answered the door.
"Good morning Mrs.Lackey." I smiled.
"Oh good morning to you too, Sam!" She smiled back.
"Do you mind if I set these on the counter? I figured Lexie would still be asleep." I said, nodding towards the flowers in my hands.
"Yes, she's still asleep. Come on in!" She gestured, stepping aside for me to walk in.
I walked over to the island counter, and set the flowers down in the middle. I've never been in Lexie's house before, so I tried to look around without coming off as a snoopy person.
"So, I gather that you kids had lots of fun last night?" Mrs.Lackey stated.
"Yeah, you could say that." I chuckled. "Did Lexie get home okay?"
"Yeah, the poor girl was freezing when I came to the door. I'm glad neither of you drove though because drinking and drinking is never good. We drank a cup of hot chocolate together before going off to bed." She replied.
"I better be going now. My mom will kill me if I'm late for church." I said, walking towards the door.
"What time is your guys' church?" She asked.
"Five minutes." I shrugged. "8:45."
"You better get going then! Would you like to come over for dinner this afternoon, Sam?" Mrs.Lackey invited.
"Sure. What time?" I asked.
"Well, our church gets over with at 11 since it starts at 10, so do you want to come over around 11:30?" She smiled.
"Sounds good! I'll see you then." I smiled back, shutting the door behind me.

"Wake up honey!" My mom called to me, opening the door.
"What time is it?" I groaned, stretching.
"8:45. By the time your done getting ready, the pancakes will be ready for you." She said, leaning down to hug me, and walking out of the room.
I got up, out of my comfy bed, and walked to the bathroom. While the shower water was warming up, I got undressed and made a quick bladder movement.
After my shower, I plugged my curler in to warm up, and dried off. Wrapping a towel around my head and one around my body, I left the bathroom to get dressed. It was hard to decide what outfit I wanted to wear, so in the end, I decided to wear a red dress that went down to about mid-thigh. It was just a plain, simple dress with a rustic brown belt around the stomach area. The reason this dress was my favorite was because it was the type of sweater material that is obviously in thick sweaters.
Slipping the dress on over my black, lace bra and underwear, I picked out some boots that matched my belt and set them on my bed. I figured that the bathroom mirror was probably clear now from the steam, so I went back to blow dry my hair.
Twenty minutes later, I came down the stairs with my boots in hand, straight, dry hair, and some light eye-makeup. I threw my boots by the door and pranced into the kitchen.
"What are these?" I asked, surprised, walking over to the flowers.
"Sam brought them for you this morning." My mom replied.
Without saying anything back, I read the little card attached to the roses.
Good morning beautiful:) I had a wonderful time with you these last two days. I can't wait to see you again!

"Awww!" I thought aloud, smelling the roses.
"He did good huh?" My mom smiled, setting a plate of pancakes down in front of me.
"Yeah." I smiled back, taking a bite of my food.
"So you didn't tell me the full story last night of this weekend..." She trailed off, sitting down next to me with her own plate of food.
"Well," I hesitated, trying to remember where I left off. "During our dinner, he asked me to be his girlfriend and-"
"Ahhhhhh!" My mom cut me off.
"And of course, I said yes. When we got back to town we went to his birthday party and that's pretty much it." I smiled.
"How adorable." She cooed. "You know, he's coming over for dinner after church."
"Okay." I shrugged, smiling.
"You look cute by the way." She added.
"Thanks mom." I chuckled.

I knocked on the door three times, then stepped back and waited for Lexie to open the door.
Opening the door, Lexie smiled at me. "Good afternoon."
"Hey." I smiled back, walking in, but Lexie didn't move out of the way for me.
When I got close enough, Lexie snaked her arms around my neck and straightened up to give me a little kiss.
Pulling away, I chuckled, "That's our first sober kiss."
She blushed, took my hand in hers, and lead me inside.
"Hello Sam!" Mrs.Lackey exclaimed, waving from her spot by the counter.
"Hi Mrs.Lackey." I smiled, sitting down next to Lexie on one of the barstools at the island counter.
"Oh please, call me Ann." She smiled back, stirring the food inside of this kettle on the stove.
"C'mon, I'll give you a tour of the house." Lexie suggested, pulling me in the opposite direction.
As Lexie showed me around her house, I couldn't help but think that she seemed way too familiar. The more I got to know her, the more I swear I've met her before. It gave me an eerie feeling, so I tried to shake the thought out of my head. Lexie's house reminded me a lot of Jack Gilinsky's house, big, nice, and clean. Sorta like mine I guess.
"And this," Lexie said, opening the last door on the left in the hallway, upstairs. "Is my room."
"Cute." I smiled, looking around at everything.
One whole wall was covered in pictures and quotes, while the adjacent wall was covered with posters. She kept her room fairly neat, except for her unorganized nightstand. There was a cream colored headboard that stood behind her queen size bed, which had a purple bedspread laid out on top.
"I have to say, it's a bit cleaner than your room." She giggled.
"And I'd have to agree with you." I chuckled, joining her in the middle of the room.
It was all quiet, and all you could her was the steady rhythm of our breathing. I brought my hands to her cheeks and slowly leaned in, planting a kiss on her soft lips. Lexie immediately kissed back, but before I could pull her any closer, we were interrupted.
"Lexie! Time to eat!" Ann yelled up at us.
I know this took forever to write and I apologize... I'm just not feelin a lot of motivation. PLEASE comment if you think I should continue this book or not because I really don't know. Thank you for reading and don't forget to vote and suggest to your friends!
