Chapter 8---Jacob
*Lexie's P.O.V.*
"Are you ready babe?" Sam asked through the speaker on my phone.
"Yep! I'll be right out." I chirped, ending the call.
Before leaving my room, I took one last look at myself in the mirror. My eyeliner was done to perfection, my outfit consisted of a tight, pink, long-sleeve, V-neck shirt with a pair of Silvers (jeans). I had curled my hair and thrown it up into a high ponytail. For shoes, I just wore some plain, black flats with a bow on the toe. All in all, my outfit was pretty suitable for a party.
After shutting my light off and grabbing my phone, I walked down stairs. I yelled a goodbye to my mom before shutting the front door behind me. Sam was waiting for me in his car, so I ran through the snow to get to it quicker.
"You look beautiful." He smiled as I hopped in the passenger's seat.
"Thanks." I smiled. "Too bad I can't say the same to you."
He put on a fake angry face, but ended up smiling in the end.
"I'm just kidding. You look very handsome." I said, leaning over to give him a kiss on the cheek.
The drive to the party only took 10 minutes, and Big Mike was throwing it. When we pulled up onto his street, we took the first open spot we could find, which was a couple houses down. For some reason, my brother's face kept popping up into my head, but I kept pushing it out. Why now? Why is he coming into my head now? Is it like a warning or something?
"Lexie?" Sam said shaking me from my thoughts.
"Sorry." I mumbled, stepping out of the car as he held the door for me.
"Are you okay? You seem tense." He thought aloud.
I nodded my head, wrapping my arms around him to warm up as he ran inside. The house was crammed with people, so I think I'll have a hard time finding Mallory and Emily.
"Lexie!" Someone yelled.
I looked in the direction as the voice and I saw Emily running towards me. She looked pretty wasted.
"Hey Em!" I cheered, noticing that Sam had already disappeared.
That's odd. He usually asks me if I'm okay first.

*Sam's P.O.V.*
As soon I walked in the door behind Lexie, someone pulled me into a closet. The person turned the light on, so I could finally see their face.
"Lily?" I gasped.
"Hi Sam." She started.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to get past her, but she stood like a rock in front of the door.
"It was you wasn't it? Nine years ago, in a little suburb of Toronto, you killed your best friend." She said.
"What are you talking about?" I growled, clenching my jaw.
"His name was Jacob wasn't it?" Lily asked.
Yes, I thought, keeping my mouth shut.
"You two were about nine years old, and you were playing catch in his front yard. He threw the ball too far into the street, and you ran to go get it without looking for cars. Jacob saw a car speeding your way, so he ran out in front of you. You ended up only having a couple scratches and broken bones, while he died. After you were all healed, you moved here with your family to join your relatives and get a fresh start." She explained.
