It was the next morning, and Jun couldn't take his mind off Minghao.
They had almost kissed
Jun knew it wasn't a good idea to kiss his best friend but he wanted to so badly. The thought of Minghao so close to him wouldn't let him sleep at night, and he was completely clueless as to what he should do about it.
As he walked to school with Minghao, he desperately wanted to know what was in the younger's mind. He was less talkative than usual, and he seemed deep in thought the entire time. Jun was about to ask him about it when Minghao suddenly spoke up.
"Can I come over after school?"
Jun was curious as to why Minghao suddenly sounded so small and shy, he knew Jun would never say no to him, so why was he acting like this? Jun couldn't help but overthink.
Did he regret what almost happened? Would he tell Jun he didn't want to be his friend anymore? Would he finally replace him? Jun couldn't bear the thought of losing Minghao."Of course"
Jun finally replied softly.
He wanted to ask Minghao what was on his mind, but he didn't dare. Instead, he waved goodbye as they both got to their respective classrooms, Jun going inside the chemistry lab.He sat next to his lab partner, Jeonghan, who was resting his head on his backpack, probably asleep. Jun chuckled as he sat next to Jeonghan, lightly tapping him on the shoulder. The older boy immediately shot up, his short brown hair messy, looking confused.
"Oh, it's you"
He said, resting his head on the backpack once again. Jun smiled.
"It's nice to see you too Jeonghan"
He replied sarcastically. He was about to let Jeonghan sleep, when he suddenly realized Seungcheol, one of the most popular guys at school, was walking towards them, his slightly long blonde hair covering his eyes, a confident smile plastered on his face.
"Jeonghan, get up"
Jun whispered, tapping the boy's shoulder.
"What the f-"
Jeonghan was about to go off at Jun, when he suddenly realized Seungcheol was right in front of him. He immediately turned a deep shade of red, making Seungcheol grin widely.
"Hey"
Seungcheol flashed a smile at the boy, completely ignoring Jun's presence. Jeonghan just blushed even harder.
"H-Hi"
He said, the usually confident boy suddenly incredibly shy. Seungcheol put his hands on Jeonghan's desk, staring right at him. Jun couldn't help but laugh at Jeonghan, he looked like a deer caught in headlights.
"Can you give me your phone number?"
Seungcheol said, still looking straight at the boy. Jeonghan wished the floor could swallow him right there and then, he probably looked like a tomato.
"Uh..."
Jeonghan choked out, not knowing what to say, feeling incredibly bashful under Seungcheol's piercing gaze.
"It's for the project... We're partners"
Seungcheol clarified, leaving Jeonghan even more confused.
"Oh?"
He said, looking like a lost child. Seungcheol just grinned at him.
"Didn't you check the list?"
