Jun woke up in the sofa, with Minghao cuddled up against his chest. He checked the time on his phone, scared his parents would be back soon.
8:11 AM
He sighed, looking down at the sleeping boy next to him. He knew he had to wake him up, but he just looked so beautiful. So calm. So carefree that Jun didn't want to bother him.
But he had to, he thought as he mindlessly played with the younger boy's hair, a soft smile plastered on his face.
"Hao.... Wake up"
He spoke softly as he lightly tapped the boy's shoulder. He felt Minghao shift in his embrace and further hide himself against Jun's shirt. The older boy sighed.
"Hao, my parents will be back anytime soon...."
He insisted, feeling the younger boy tug at his shirt.
Minghao wasn't giving up, so Jun did the only thing he could think of.He started tickling the younger boy, Minghao squirming under his touch and trying to hide himself. Jun reached every spot he could find and tickled Minghao until the younger finally gave up.
"O-okay! I surrender!"
He spoke in between laughter, Jun landing on top of him. Minghao smiled softly, Jun tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. He leaned down slowly to press a kiss against his lips, the younger smiling immediately and wrapping his arms around Jun.
"Come on, I'll walk you home"
Jun eventually spoke, getting up from the sofa and reaching out his hand for Minghao to hold.
The younger eagerly took it, the both of them walking out of the apartment with smiles plastered on their faces.--
On the other side of the small town, a boy hid beneath the covers of his bed scrolling through Instagram, knowing well he should probably do his homework.
As he scrolled he came across a picture he wished he didn't.
A smiling boy holding a dog stared at him through the screen, the boy happening to be the cause of his recently broken heart. Jeonghan gulped and stared at the picture for way too long, Seungcheol's eyes burning into his.
"Stop doing this to yourself" he thought as he eventually continued scrolling, trying his best to ignore the painful burning inside his chest. Jeonghan didn't cry often, so that just resulted in him bottling up his emotions until one day, he exploded, it was his way of coping with things.
He sighed, pressing his face against his pillow, the thunder outside making the boy shudder. He had about 15 missed calls from Seungcheol, and 28 unopened messages.
He didn't want to hear it.The pleading.
The meaningless promises.
The lies.
The pain that would come after.
He was probably better off alone anyways.
His thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing, Jeonghan decided to just ignore it, hoping whoever was there would eventually get tired of waiting and leave. But the ringing didn't stop, and Jeonghan was starting to get annoyed.
So he got up, blanket thrown around his shoulders and walked downstairs to get the door.
And then he froze.
There, in the middle of the rain, stood a dripping, wet, Seungcheol, holding a bouquet of pink roses.
Jeonghan stared at him for what felt like an eternity, the older eventually speaking up.
"Can I come in?"
He asked, his soft gaze melting Jeonghan's heart and though he didn't want to, he let him in once again.
Seungcheol walked inside, Jeonghan keeping his distance from him and closing the door behind them.
"What are you doing here Seungcheol?"
Jeonghan sighed, leaning his back against the door frame. The older looked down at his feet, trying to find the right words to say.
"I figured this was the least I could do.... You wouldn't return any of my calls and I.... I needed to talk to you-"
Before Seungcheol could say anything else Jeonghan interrupted him.
"I don't wanna hear it"
He muttered, wrapping his fist around the blanket and clenching it.
He felt the boiling sensation in his stomach again and he tried to fight his tears."Do you know how humiliating that was?"
He asked, Seungcheol gulping.
"Of course you don't. You have no idea what it is to be out. For so long I actually thought I wouldn't find anyone, because everyone just appeared to be straight. And then you come along with your fucking stupid smile and you pretend you like me and I actually believed it and you go and- you just-"
Jeonghan couldn't help the tears from pouring out as he let everything out. It felt good to tell someone, even though he probably didn't care.
"Jeonghan...."
Seungcheol whispered, carefully walking closer to Jeonghan.
"Please listen to me for just a minute okay? You can kick me out after if you want but just-.... just listen please"
He pleaded, his voice quivering slightly. Jeonghan nodded slowly, never looking up from his feet.
"Everything I did was genuine, and I would never regret any of it. I fucked up Jeonghan, I know. I never meant to hurt you, please believe me. I know you hate me now, and I don't blame you, but at least please know my feelings for you are true, and they haven't changed. I know what I did was horrible and I will never be sorry enough Jeonghan"
He stopped to catch his breath, Jeonghan still staring at the ground.
"I like you a lot Jeonghan. I have for a while. The only reason I didn't approach you sooner is because I was scared, I'm still scared. I want to be out Jeonghan... It's just so hard. But maybe if you help me... I'm sure I'll eventually find the courage. If you don't want to then it's okay I'm not gonna insis-"
Jeonghan cut him off breathlessly.
"Okay"
He breathed, Seungcheol's eyes glistening.
"But you owe me the most perfect date in the existence of dates"
