Mikey's POV I woke up with Natalia on top of me with her head snuggled into my chest. Everything was so perfect... then it hit me like a truck that my sister was in the hospital. I looked down and saw that Natalia had her thumb pressed against her lip while asleep. She always does that in her sleep. It's really adorable.
I looked down at my phone and saw that I had gotten a text from my mom.
"Hey. Your dad and I are gonna be at the hospital all day so you and Natalia will be at the house by yourselves. Please pray for your sister and I love you so much."
I took a deep breath and tried to slowly get out of her bed without waking her. "Good morning baby." She said and started to rub her eyes. "Good morning." "Any news on Mia?" "Um, my parents are going to be spending the day with her." "Oh...." "But we're gonna be spending the day alone together." I said and then rubbed her lower back.
"I guess that's a positive." She said and then rolled her eyes.
In the kitchen, we made calzones together and I made coffee for myself.
Everything that we did had such a depressing undertone to it because both of us knew deep down inside that someone who we truly love is hurting right now.
Natalia heard a ding on her phone and looked down.
"What does it say?" I asked.
"Hey Natalia! The international foreign exchange program is going to be having a bowling party today at Victor's Bowling place at 2 pm tonight. Hope you can make!" She read it off to me.
"So do you wanna go?" I asked. "Well I would love to but since Mia's in the hos-" "You should go!" I said and interrupted her. "It beats sitting in the house worrying about her." I said bluntly. "Well if I go then you should come with!" "Um, do you think they will allow me to be there?" "They should!" "I don't know." I said and then scratched the back of my neck. "Please baby..." She said and then kissed my cheek.
I looked her in the eyes and agreed to go.

Whenever we showed up to the bowling rink, there were a group of kids of all ethnicities talking. Natalia lead the way and started to talking to a girl. "I'm Natalia, what's your name?" She said confidently to a girl with a bindi. "I'm Priya. Where are you from?" "I'm from America. More specifically I'm from Texas." "That's so cool! I'm from Paris, France." "Paris?! Are you kidding me?! That's like my dream city!" They continued their conversation while I awkwardly stood behind Natalia looking like a weirdo. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see a boy with light brown hair and freckles. "How you doin mate?" He said with a strong Australian accent. "Oh my gosh..." I said and covered my mouth. "What?" The boy asked. "It's just.. It's just I've never heard an Australian accent in real life before." I said. "Well congratulations! I'm glad to have blessed you with my mighty accent!" "The names Ted." He said and held his hand out for me to shake. "I'm Mikey." I said and then shook his hand. "So where are you from?" He asked "I'm from here actually. I just came here with my girlfriend." "Who's your girl?" I motioned towards Natalia who was still talking to Priya. "Well aren't you a lucky lad." He said and then laughed.
The event was so much fun and it was fun meeting so many kids from around the globe. We stayed at the event until the bowling place was about to close.
Natalia came behind me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder. "You bout ready to leave?" She said. "Yeah. This was so much fun!" I said with a genuine smile on my face. "I agree but a hoe is starting to get tired. Can we leave?" "Yeah." I said and let out a laugh
