(Katniss POV)
Honestly, I can't wait to get out of China. I know that I'll have to start off as the lonely girl in school with a high possibility of getting picked on since as I've been told I am a complete nerd. I could see how I'm a nerd since all I ever want to do is read and plus sometimes I need glasses. My sister is the complete opposite, she's always wanting to do something and make new friends. She's so companionable and I don't understand how she does it.
"Are you excited?" my dad asks as we sit on the plane headed toward Florida.
"I'm so excited to make new friends and socialize" I say sarcastically.
"Katniss please try to make friends" I roll my eyes.
"Are you saying this because these people know english or..." I trail off.
"Katniss please"
"Dad it's not easy for me to make friends and you know that hell even Prim does and she's four" I chuckle.
"watch the language"
"I'd rather be locked in a room with a phone with internet access and a million books than have to socialize with actual people" he gives an are you kidding look.
"and no I'm not kidding or you could throw me in the woods with a phone and books so I can hunt, read, and be on the internet without having to physically socialize."
"Just try" I sigh rather loudly and mumble "whatever" to him.

19 hours later all three of us are jet lagged and done with yet another plane ride.
"Alright lets get to the house. the movers already put all the stuff in the house so-"
"I can just go home and sleep?" I ask interrupting my dad.
"Yeah and you have the whole summer so make some friends"
"I would rather not" I say. Prim tugs on my pant leg I look down at her and she looks up at me with her arms in the air.
"Why am I always carrying you? you have feet" I say as I pick her up.
"Because I like it when you carry me"
"Whatever" this jet lag is getting to me. We hail down a taxi and start the drive toward our new house, I have no idea what this house will be like but I open it's nice.
When I first see the new house it surprised me that my dad could afford this. It is a two story house but, has a basement. The color is a faded blue and it has a balcony on the second story looking out the front of the house. The backyard is big since it is a beach house, also in the backyard is a big pool I would probably never have a party because well as I said earlier I'm a nerd and I don't make friends easily.
"Do you guys like it?" my dad asks as we walk into the house. The inside is even more stunning than the outside, you can see the family room right when you enter the house and the wall in front of the family room is a glass wall so, you can see the pool and, the beach, It's jaw-dropping.
"How did you afford this?" he chuckles.
"The company paid for it and no fighting about bedrooms I already picked them out. We don't need to paint or anything I have already had someone do that and I think you girls will like your rooms" my dad smirks. Curiosity gets the best of me so, I sprint up to my room and swing the door open, my dad was right I love this room.
My bed is kingsized with a million pillows on it which I know I will defiantly use all of them. To the side is a huge book shelf that is empty and thank God it is, I hate when people put my books away I like it the way I organize it. On the left is a huge bathroom and a huge walk in closet. "I think you went a bit overboard dad" I hear him laugh.
"You think so?" I look back to see him leaning against my door, I nod.
"Yes this is a lot"
"I thought you would like it" he says a little disappointed.
"Oh I love it it's just a lot to take in" I say laying on my bed.
"Well I'm so glad you like it" he sits on the edge of my bed.
"Katniss I really expect you to try to make friends, it's different here you could make more friends since people actually speak english" I chuckle at the last part "I'lll try dad I promise" he kisses my forehead then leaves, I fall fast asleep.

"Kitty!!!!!!! WAKE UP KITTY" Prim yells into my ear.
"No, I'm tired"
"But kitty it's 4 in the morning" my eyes snap open, I look out my curtain to see the sun I look at my clock to see it is 4 but not in the morning.
"Little Duck it's 4 in the evening on Tuesday"
"You slept long" she says. I slept from 12 in the afternoon on Monday to 4 in the evening on Tuesday.
"I sure did" I get up and walk downstairs to hear laughter and other people. When I reach the kitchen my dad looks at me.
"Well look the living lives" he says.
"That made no sense" he just shrugs.
"Katniss these are the Mason's they are our neighbors and their daughter goes to the same school that you will be going to"
"Hello" I say shyly.
"Hi Katniss it's nice to meet oyu, my daughter is out with her friends right now" I just nod at Mr. Mason.
This will probably be the worst summer ever
