(Katniss POV)
Delly Cartwright and her mother are sat at my table with my father.
"How did you get here?" I ask Delly.
"It's called short cuts," she says grinning.
I look over at my dad, "what are they doing here?" My dad stands up and motions for me to sit.
"This is about the tension between you two. It was brought to my attention that you have been harassing my daughter, Delly." Who the hell told him.
"Who told-" my dad cuts me off.
"Let her speak, Katniss" I sit back waiting impatiently for her to start up a new lie.
"I was just protecting my boyfriend, peeta, she was being mean to him and I thought a little revenge won't hurt" she looks up at my dad like a sweet little innocent girl.
"That is not true" I say, as anger surges through me.
"Okay, tell us your side of the story, Katniss," my dad says.
"I accidentally ran into her at the outlet mall. I said sorry and started walking away, but like the bitch she is she started trying to boss me around, like she is the queen of the world. she pushed me into a puddle and all my stuff was ruined. I started walking home and she threw smoothie all over me for no reason. Oh yeah and this was before I even knew Peeta existed, also he broke up with you if you didn't here," I say. I start to stand up and walk away.
"Katniss, sit back down," my dad says and I do as I'm told.
"Wow you actually listen" Delly says and I about had enough of her. I get up and tackle her right out of her seat.
"Get off of me" I'm about to punch her when my dad lifts me up and takes me into my room. I can hear Delly's mom screaming at me from downstairs.
"You stay right here" my dad storms out of my room and downstairs.
"Leave!" I hear him yell and I hear the door slam. I'm about to get a mouthful from him.
"Katniss Everdeen, what the hell was that!" I jump off my bed.
"It's called payback, Dad!" I push him out of my room and slam the door hard. I can hear him screaming at me from outside the door.
"Daddy, stop it you are gonna upset her!" I hear Prim yelling. My dad stops yelling although I'm already upset. I hear his footsteps as he walks downstairs. There is a light tap at my door, I open it knowing its Prim.
"Are you okay?" She's asks as she sits in my lap.
"I'm okay" I kiss her head and hug her tightly.
"Your nose is bleeding," she whispers. She's about to touch it, but I move her hand away and get a tissue and press it to my nose.
"Did daddy do that?" I look at her like she's insane.
"Prim, dad would never hit me or you. Delly did this," I say.
"Oh, is she the meanie that threw smoothie all over you?" I nod and lay my head back. Prim starts playing with my hair and it lulls me unit a deep sleep.
"Katniss, wake up" I open my eyes to see my dad shaking me awake.
"I'm sorry for taking Delly's side" I keep looking at him without saying a word.
"I know what Delly did to you was wrong. I was just mad that you would lash out like that" I sit up a little bit.
"Are you going to ground me?" He shakes his head.
"No" I furrow my eyebrows.
"You aren't going to ground me for almost beating up a girl?" He shakes his head.
"Why not?" I ask.
"Because, I have never seen you that angry before and I think it was awesome," a giant smile grows on my face and I burst out laughing.
When the laughter dies down he gets serious again. "Katniss, if she ever bothers you again tell me okay?" I nod my head.
"You should get some sleep" I stand up and stretch.
"Maybe I want to read" I say.
"We have a busy day tomorrow. I would rather you sleep" he says.
"Okay, goodnight, dad" I say.
"Goodnight, girl on fire" he winks at me then walks out of my room.
