"Where are we going?" Jack asked.
It had been a few days since they moved into their apartment, and now, Rose had taken him for a walk. She had explained that there was something she needed to do, and she wanted him to be with her when she did it.
"You'll see" she said.
They walked threw a park with well-kept trees and bushes, beautiful flowers and fountains here and there. They saw people of all kinds; businessmen, nurses with children, wealthy families and poor ones as well.
When they'd passed the park, they came to a small bridge.
"Here" Rose said.
They walked to the middle of the bridge and stayed with its railing. The water streamed under them. Jack looked at it. A lump in his chest told him that this was a dangerous place, but he tried to ignore it.
"I feel the same Jack" Rose said staring at the streaming water. "But I have to do this" she said, turning to him. " To move on".
She turned her attention to her hand. First, Jack didn't understood what she was doing. But than he saw. She had taken off her engagement ring. Now it was lying in her hand. She closed her eyes and held the ring with both her hands.
"Cal, this is for you". She took a pause. "Mother said you were the perfect fellow. You had everything a women like me could ask for. Money, and a huge dick."
Jack couldn't help laugh a little when she said the last word. Rose almost did it herself. She continued:
"But you actually destroyed my life because when you took my freedom you also took my happiness away from me. My life became worse than ever." She paused. "However, I actually want to thank you. If you wouldn't have given me this ring, we wouldn't went to America to get married. That means, that I wouldn't have met the man that I actually love. I wouldn't have met Jack Dawson, the man that I want to share all of my dreams with, the man I hope I one day will marry, the man that I want to live in a big house with and the man I hope one day becomes father to my children." Another pause. "I'm going to let this ring sink to the bottom, just like Titanic, and it's going to be forgotten just like our relationship. May our relationship Rest In Peace, or may it burn in hell". She turned to the water and dropped the ring. They both watched it when it disappeared into the streaming water.

Cal was gone. He didn't existed for Rose anymore. She had made a huge step to let go the past, and she was so proud of herself that she found that courage. Actually, it felt like many of her fears disappeared the second she dropped the ring. When she wasn't trapped with Cal, a lump of anxious inside her disappeared. Neither he or her mother was a part of her family anymore, and it was a truly relief.
