Two days later

Hmm now what should I wear? I asked myself.

Today all most the entire kingdom was coming to the castle for a big brunch and mandatory weather control speech.

A couple years ago, my mother created "weather control meetings."

She would gather everyone into the dining hall of the castle to have brunch, and talk about how awful they were at their job.

So, due to the recent, uhh, complications, we were having one today.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys!

I'm a princess by the way.

My mother "leads" Winter, as she says. Basically though, she's the queen.

So I guess that kinda makes me the princess.

I never knew my father.

My mother told me that he had died in a tragic accident when I was very young, and she got emotional when ever I tried to pry information out of her, so I did my best to keep my distance.

I slipped on my dress, and picked a pair of matching heels from my closet.

I tied my hair back into a graceful bun, and hurriedly did my makeup.

I was going to be late if I stayed up here any longer.

I swung open my door, took a deep breath and headed down the large spiral staircase that lead down to the dining hall.

As I stepped over the threshold, the enormous dining hall came into view.

The few early birds that had already arrived turned their heads in my direction, and bowed.

I nodded my head to them, and walked up to where my mother had been sitting.

She stopped speaking with a towns folk as soon as she saw me coming.

"Excuse me one moment ma'am." She said.

"Of course my lady." The towns woman said, as she bowed, and then walked off staring at the ceiling decor.

My mother turned back to me, one eyebrow arched.

"I have never seen that dress before, where is it from? Or have you just never worn it around me before?" She questioned.

I rolled my eyes and my face formed a playful grin.

"C'mon mom, I wore this yesterday when we went and visited the McCleans."

She smiled back at me.

Just as I was about to speak, trumpets blared, sending a loud blast throughout the hall, and echoing off of every available surface.

"It looks like the guests are about to arrive." My mother stated.

"See you in a bit." I replied.

We hugged goodbye and she turned on her heels, and headed towards the door which the entire village was flooding into the dining hall though.

I sat down at my assigned table and seat.

I turned my head trying to find any townsfolk I knew and could talk to to pass the time.

Instead of seeing a familiar face, someone else caught my attention.

He had a messy mop of brown hair, and was wearing dark jeans, and a simple white shirt, the clothes they give to every released hospital patient.

It was him.

From the hospital, two nights ago.

My heart jumped up into my throat.

I swallowed hard as he took his seat, only three chairs down from where I was sitting.

My hands shook violently as he swiveled his head in my direction, and stared directly at me.
