Unfortunately, we lost the match.
It was strange that we got defeated so easily. And the way the fire guy was looking at me felt off. It was like he knew me. But..... he's new, I tried to reassure myself. He can't know me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of something hitting the ground. "Ugh!" Jodie groaned as she angrily threw her helmet on the floor. "I can't believe we lost to a bunch of newbies!" "Chill. It's only the first match of the season," Marco said as we all changed out of our suits. "We'll still be able to defend our championship."
"Yeah! They seem pretty awesome!Who knows.... maybe we could even be friends with our opponents," I said, unstrapping my gloves. "Did you not see how they just kicked our butts out there!?" Gill waves his hands frantically. "There's no way I'm willing to be friends with them," Jodie said.
I ignored their annoying comments and stepped over to the patio. The Four Alphas we're walking into their dressing room not too far from ours. "They seem like bad news," Marco's voice said from behind me. It was too late. I had already made up my mind. I puffed my chest as I said, "I'm gonna go talk to them!"
Before anyone could protest or tell me how stupid I was, I marched all the way over to their room, steadily stepping with one foot before the other. I stood in the doorway with my shoulders squared and my head held high. "IT IS VERY NICE TO MEET YOU!" I blurted out, mentally cringing at how weird I sounded.
All four of them paused, looking at me through their helmets. I felt sweat trickle down my forehead as one of them approached me. His white suite had red stripes along with a red helmet on his head. The only thing I could see were his blue eyes. Then he stood directly in front of me, causing me to look up since he was much taller.
The male took of his helmet, running his fingers through a head of raven black hair. His eyes searched mine as I became even more nervous. What did I just do?!? I mentally yelled. He looked angry for a split second, before his lips curled into a cheeky smile.
"Oh~ you're a fan!" He said. "W-what!? No I-" A girl behind him took off her grey helmet and interrupted me. She had extremely short blond hair and dark brown eyes. "Blaze stop talking to the competition." The boy quickly turned back to me. "Competition?" He had an upset look before returning to an unamused expression.
"So, you're from Team Lameness?" He asked. I scoffed. So immature, I thought. Before I could answer with an awesome comeback, Marco came behind me with an even lamer one. "It's Team Awesome!" He exclaimed. "And it's an awesome name." "Dude, it's not," I heard Gill whisper.
"What do you want?" The boy in the blue helmet said. "Well, you're moves out there were pretty good," I mumbled. "I just wanted to welcome you to the competition...." Suddenly, the dark haired boy glared at me and shoved a finger at my chest. "What? So you can rub it on our face that we're new?" He said menacingly. "We don't need any welcoming. We're not here to make friends. We came to fight."
With no further words they simply left, leaving me dumbfounded. "He was unpleasant," Jodie growled.
I was upset and extremely offended, but at least I tried. If they wanted to play the hard way, that's what they would get. It looked like the twins were thinking the same thing as they grinned at me.
"This," Gill started.
"Means," Bill said.
"War," I growled.

After the fight, I slowly creeped back to the castle, trying my best to not be noticed by the multiple guards. Since my uncle's little 'visit' a couple months ago, the security had been up. The guards would often rotate their posts to make sure no one would intrude. Luckily, I was a fast learner. I figured out their pattern and was able to creep through the castle doors with ease.
Then I climbed the stairs, slowly stepping to avoid the loud creeks. Finally, I thought as I quietly entered my room. The entire room was pitch black as I carefully closed the door. The moment I turned on the lights, I covered my mouth to conceal a frightened scream.
"What are you doing Lucy!?" I whisper yelled. "I'd like to ask you that too," she said, staring at me skeptically. She sat on my bed in her night gown with some cyan face cream and pink curlers entangled in her dark hair. Was she just waiting for me in the dark? I thought, slightly weirded out.
She looked like a wife who caught her husband coming home from another girl's house.
"I-I was just.... uhh. Y'know..." "No. I don't know," she deadpanned. "Jeez! Can't I just take a stroll?!" I yelled, trying to cover up my lie. "So late?" She quirked an eyebrow at me.
I squirmed uncomfortably, trying to think of an excuse. I was training with Mel? I thought. No.... I already have the four elements. Doing some extra princess duties? Nah, we both know I would never do that. Before I could think of another lie, her voice brought me back to reality. "You're pretty stubborn you know," she sighed as she got up and went to the door.
"You're gonna have to tell me someday."
Then she slammed the door shut. I wanted to tell her about The Battle of Elementals, but I couldn't. Lucy was terrible at keeping secrets, and sooner or later my parents would have found out. Fighting alongside my friends was the only time I truly felt free. Not cooped up in the castle with endless work to do.
Soon I found myself thinking about the Four Alphas as I got ready for bed. What's their deal? I thought. I just wanted to welcome them since they're new. Everyone there seems to be so snappy for some reason.
I sighed as I crawled into bed. "I bet it's another long day for me tomorrow..." I mumbled half asleep. "Helping people.... signing p....paperwork. And..... peanuts....."
Soon I slowly drifted off to sleep.
I was laying comfortably in bed, sleeping soundly. All I could see was blackness. That was until a bright white light invaded my vision.

Soo, random question.
I had a discussion about this before but I'm just curious. What are your phobias? I did a phobia challenge in my art book if you wanna check it out.
For me, I'm scared of death, the dark, germs, crowded spaces, but I bet there are a BUNCH more I haven't discovered yet.
See you in the next chapter!
