"How do you like it?" I asked my last client of the day as I placed a mirror in front of her. I recently got certified as a lash technician and I finally added lash extensions as a service. She was my first client to ask for the service and I couldn't lie her lashes came out really nice.
"Ouuuu, yes! They came out so nice! Thanks boo." She said as I smiled.
"Let me see." Onyx rushed over. "They look nice sis. You're gonna have to do me some."
"You know I got you." I smiled. I continued to talk to my client and gave her instruction to not get them wet for at least 48 hours and that the extensions should last about 2 weeks.
She thanked me again before paying me and heading out.
I cleaned my area as well as the rest of the workers who worked in the salon with Onyx. They soon began to leave one by one as soon as their areas were cleaned.
I called Kelsi on Facetime and was greeted with a smile.
"Hey friend."
"Hey, B. I know you're calling for Blu. She's right over there." She said facing the camera towards Blu who was playing a game. Kelsi had kept her promise and took my baby to Chuck E Cheese and she seemed to be having the time of her life.
"Aww, she's having fun." I smiled brightly. "Has she been giving you trouble?"
"She never does it's just that mouth." She said turning the camera back to herself as I laughed. Blu was definitely not a bad kid she just had a big mouth like my mother and sister.
"Tell me about it." I teased. "After y'all are done would you be able to drop Blu at Ayden's?"
"Sure, she's sleeping over?" She asked sipping from her drink.
"Yeah I just told him to make sure she's back in time for church."
"Okay well I'll call you before I drop her off sis."
"Okay, don't forget."
"I won't. Blu, come tell mommy bye!" She said as Blu rushed over putting her face all in the camera.
"Hey mommy! Bye mommy! Mwah!" She said before rushing back off to her game. I laughed before telling Kelz a final goodbye.
"You ready to start on your hair?" She questioned once I finished the call as I nodded. I sat in her chair allowing her to start the process. Onyx had my real hair long and healthy but I hated to deal with it so I kept my weaves and wigs.
"What did they say about the house, On?" I asked. We had found a spacious one story home when we arrived here we moved out recently into our own spaces because we decided to remodel it. It was a beautiful house already but we just had to make it our home. I hated living separately from Onyx but it was still as if we lived together but we were always at each other's apartments so we never missed a beat.
"I went yesterday. Everything was practically done just needed to be cleaned up a bit." She said. "It looks sooo pretty sis."
"You always do shit without me." I rolled my eyes.
"I wasn't supposed to go but I was riding with Carter and we passed by the house I had to go look sis." She said and I could practically hear the smile in her voice.
"I was riding with Carter." I mimicked her as she popped me. "Ow, Onyx."
"Don't play with me." She said as we shared a laugh. "I'm going to put you a treatment and trim your ends before I put your extensions in. Your hair is so healthy sis."
