Blessen
Banks and I sat on a hammock under the shade of a huge tree at our new home. We were finally taking a break after hauling all of our belongings.
He looked into space as I laid on his chest staring at his beautiful face.
"Kairi." I said as I traced the tattoo on the side of his face as he looked down at me. "That's such a pretty name. Who's Kairi?"
"My daughter." He said as I scrunched up my face. Banks had never mentioned that he had a child so I was shocked. Not upset, just shocked. "She was a stillborn. She would be four right now. She was so beautiful, B. She looked just like me too."
I wanted to pretend like I understood his pain but I didn't know his pain at all. Blu meant the world to me before she came into my life. When I was pregnant I knew that this little girl would change my life and losing her at birth would crush me. I couldn't imagine not having my baby girl. I stayed silent not able to find the right words to say.
I kissed the side of his face where Kairi was written so beautifully. I laid back on his chest letting silence take over. I know that there was so much that we wanted to say but everything was better left unsaid.
"Blu is gonna love it out here." I smiled breaking the silence and thinking about how much fun my baby would have out here. It was so peaceful and we had an underground pool. Blu loves the water so I know she would want to be out here often.
"Word." He laughed. "I gotta get my lil mama a swing set. She is gonna go crazy."
"Like she's not spoiled enough already." I scoffed as he kissed my forehead.
"Hey you guysssss." Onyx slurred as I turned my head smiling at her. She had grocery bags in her hand and a cup in the other so I knew that she had been drinking. "We're having a barbecue. No sis not a party. Just us. A couple of drinks, good food, and a good time."
"That actually sounds fun." I smiled sitting up. "Get up big boy."
"Anything for you big mama." He said as I smirked.
"Who's gonna barbecue?" I asked.
"Banks and Carter." She shrugged as I looked over at Banks.
"Aye, I can't cook but I'm the king of the pit." He said as we laughed.
"We'll see."
"Carter picked you guys up some swim trunks and I already called Kelsi and Mega." Onyx informed me.
"Who the hell is Mega?" I asked Onyx but Banks answered.
"My cousin. Dude is real cool." Banks informed me as I nodded. I trusted Banks so if he says Mega is okay then I'll take his word for it.
"Okay that's fine. I'm going to go change I been ready to wear one of my bathing suits." I smiled. I recently bought some cute swimsuits and I was ready to show it off. For Banks only of course.
"Put on a cover up too. I'll beat up my brother and cousin behind you." He said as I laughed. He was dead ass serious too which made it even funnier. I'm not worried about Carter or Mega and I'm sure they are not worried about me.
"Bye Banks." I laughed walking into the house. I greeted Carter who was alongside Onyx getting things ready for the barbecue. I was so happy to not be in the kitchen today.
I smiled in awe of my new home. It was so colorful and a big step above our two-bedroom apartment. I could tell that I would be happy here so I knew that the move was a great choice. I walked into my bathroom and freshened up a bit before placing on a blue two-piece bathing suit and a white see through cover up. I placed my hair in a bun and applied some gloss to my lips before calling Blu on FaceTime.
