Letters to Nico (a Percico Fanfic)

Chapter 1

NICO POV

"Percy, I told you once and I'll tell you again, it was a complete accident!"

"Oh, so you on top of my girlfriend was an accident?!"

Nico blushed at that. He didn't mean to trip over a root and face plant on top of Annabeth. It wasn't his fault Annabeth had been standing there when he fell!

"Look, I tripped over a freaking tree root. I'm sorry," Nico apologized.

"Oh sure you did. It just so happened to be Annabeth you 'fell' on, huh? Because I won't believe it for a second!" Percy roared.

By now a pretty sufficient crowd had gathered to watch the two demigods argue. Crowds made Nico nervous.

"The whole camp knows you like her, Nico," Percy said, menace in his sea green eyes.

Nico felt a rush of irritation sweep through him. After all this time, Percy still thought he liked Annabeth.

"Percy, you're so blind to the truth that it hurts! I do not. Like. Annabeth," Nico growled. Percy snorted.

"Don't deny it, it only makes you look worse. Now I want you to go apologize to Annabeth right now."

"But there's nothing to apologize for!" Nico shot back, anger fuming off of him.

"You asked for it," Percy said scathingly. Suddenly, a wave of water formed above Percy's head. Nico yelped in alarm, but instantly regained his composure.

Then, Nico got an idea.

The son of Hades imagined a small pit caving out from under Percy. The hole appeared, and Percy let out a small yelp of terror as he lost his balance and plunged into the pit. For a terrifying second, Nico thought he'd miscalculated and made the pit a never ending abyss until he saw a very ticked off demigod poke his face out from the hole Nico had formed.

"Nico, you son of a-"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!!"

Nico spun around to see Chiron glaring at him through narrowed eyes. Nico glanced behind him and saw fear in Percy's eyes.

"Both of you come with me, now," Chiron snarled. Since Nico didn't want an arrow in his face, he followed the centaur to the Big Hall, Percy right behind.

When Chiron and the two demigods arrived, Nico was shaking so bad he thought he was going to pass out.

His feelings of nervousness only increased when Nico looked at the couch. It was barely big enough to fit both of the boys. They both sat down and Nico shivered at the feel of Percy's arm against his.

"Now, why were you two arguing?" Chiron asked cooly.

"This idiot- who has a major crush on my wonderful girlfriend- wound up on top of Annabeth in the middle of a secluded forest," Percy said through gritted teeth.

It took all of Nico's willpower not to attack his crush right then and there.

Chiron motioned for Nico to tell his side of the story.

"I was walking around in the forest because I had nothing to do. I found an awesome tree and decided to climb it. I started walking towards it when I tripped over the tree root and tumbled down the hill. Annabeth just so happened to be walking in the forest as well. I landed on her and that's when Percy saw me on top of her and took it in the completely wrong way," Nico said, ending his story with a glare at Percy.

Chiron pondered both of their stories for a moment then looked at them both.

"It doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong in this case. What is important is that I will not tolerate fighting here. We have enough enemies as it is and I don't need two of my most experienced campers arguing over something so childish. As punishment, when camp ends you two are to send each other letters; you will be pen pals as the mortals call it. By next summer, I expect you to be the best of friends. You understand?" Chiron said cooly.

Nico inhaled sharply. He would have an excuse to keep in touch with Percy Jackson for an entire summer??? It was too good to be true!

Percy simply sighed and nodded unenthusiastically. Nico nodded curtly to Chiron.

"Alright, you may go," Chiron said. "No more fighting, you hear?" Nico nodded bluntly then got up and exited quickly. He felt the angry gaze of his crush bore into his very soul as the son of Hades disappeared into the shadows.

So, what did you guys think? I'm somewhat new to writing so I'll do my best to make this an awesome story but I can't make any promises that it'll be the best.
