NICO'S POV

Nico grasped Nightmare tightly. He didn't know when he'd come up with the name, he just thought it was fitting for a description of his life. The word "Nightmare" truly

Ambrogio laughed again and hissed, showing off his huge fangs. Nico gulped but stuck his ground.

He wouldn't be scared of any other vampire. After all, all he had to do was duck away from the fangs.

But Artemis had blessed Ambrogio with the speed and strength of a hunter. In this battle, there would be no such thing as ducking. He would have to trust his wits on this one.

"Perchè dopo di me? Ci sono probabilmente una tonnellata più semidei là fuori," Nico said. (Translation: Why are you coming after me? There are probably a ton more demigods out there.)

Ambrogio smirked. "Tu sei la preda più facile, Nico. Si è rotto e perso. Facile preda di Ambrogio."

(Translation: You are the easiest prey, Nico. You are broken and lost. Easy prey for Ambrogio.)

Nico narrowed his eyes. This vampire knew his past. That wasn't good.

Ambrogio continued, "Ho sentito molte storie di te, Nico. Tua sorella e li tuo amante senza speranza. Perchè non mollare adesso?"

(Translation: I have heard many tales of you, Nico. Your dead sister and your hopeless lover. Why not just give up now?)

Nico lashed out with Nightmare but Ambrogio jumped back easily.

"Non ho mai arrendo!" Nico roared.

(Translation: I never give up!)

Nico swung up with Nightmare, and Ambrogio wailed in pain. The son of Haded had sliced off one of his fangs.

While Ambrogio was howling in pain, Nico grabbed the tooth and slipped it into his pocket. He was sure vampire teeth would have some use.

"Do not forget that I am immortal. You cannot kill me," Ambrogio hissed in English.

"No, but I can suck out the very thing that makes you alive. Your soul," Nico growled.

"You have forgotten that Hades has my soul," Ambrogio laughed. While the vampire was distracted, Nico thrust his sword into his stomach.

"If Hades really had your soul, you would be dead. Say arrivederci!" Nico said with a smirk. (Translation: goodbye!)

"N-no!" Ambrogio gasped. "H-have p-pity!"

Nico laughed cruelly. "Not a chance."

Then, Ambrogio melted into a pile of golden dust.

"Serves you right," Nico growled.

The son of Hades turned to the door to Ambrogios office and opened it. He walked back into the classroom and went back to his seat.

"Why were you in Ms. Davis's office?" a girl whispered.

"Huh? Who's Ms. Davis?" Nico asked, confused. The girl rolled her eyes.

"Our English teacher. Duh."

"Oh, uh, yeah. Right," Nico mumbled.

"She needed to talk to me about something."

The girl nodded then turned back around to face the front of the class.

Just then, a lady with auburn hair and glasses came out of Ambrogio's office.

"Well then class. Let's get started..."
