Chapter Ten

There you were, kissing the boy of your dreams. It felt like nothing could ruin this moment , until you could hear the sound of pattering footsteps in the distance. You and Lance quickly pulled away from each other, staring at each other with wide eyes.

"What's that!" you whisper-shouted.

"How do you expect me to know?" He huffed.

"I asked for an answer, not attitude," you groaned. You looked around the room. "Hide," you spoke.

"What, where? Lance quizzed. He quickly gestured around the entire room, showing you that there was nothing in the room to hide behind except for a control panel.

"Well, I guess you'll have to hide behind the panel," you suggested as you lightly shoved him in that general direction. He huffed as he quickly scurried behind the large box. You realized that he had uncuffed you, and if someone came in to see you wandering around the room, you would be in even more trouble than you were before. "Psst!"

"What!" the petite man queried as he poked his brown hair above the steel box.

"You need to cuff me!" you reminded him. His eyebrows went up, indicating the dumb smirk he now had. "Did you really make a dirty joke out of that?" you scoffed.

"Well your sentence was completely up for interpretation," he laughed. You shook your head as you sat back in the spot you were originally placed.

"You kiss your mother with that mouth," you gasped, dramatically. You watched as he quickly moved his body around the panel and started pressing the buttons.

"I also kissed you, I didn't hear you complaining," he pointed out as he pressed the final button. You sighed as the metal bars clasped themselves around your wrists. You quickly inhaled as they tightened to fit your bone shape.

"I'm sorry," you heard Lance mutter. You then heard the footsteps again. This time, you heard the voices.

"There's no way you tagged me, I was all the way down the hall!" Hunk exclaimed as you heard Pidge cackle like a witch. You heard someone smack against the wall.

"She totally got you, I saw!" Keith panted. You sighed, there they were, you're new found family, and you ruined it. They convinced Allura to let you stay, but that didn't mean they accepted you. You heard them run throughout the hall, laughing, screaming, having fun, before it came to an abrupt stop. You assumed they had made their way into another area of the castle, before your door opened to reveal a shadow. You didn't speak, the room was dark, and you didn't want to get your hopes up that Keith, Hunk, and/or Pidge were standing in the doorway. The figure moved closer to you until i tapped you on the shoulder.

"Tag, you're it," the person whispered playfully. The lights turned on to reveal a goofy-smiling Pidge staring you right in the face. You smiled, looking past her shoulder to reveal Hunk and Keith, both of which looked like they were drowning in their own sweat.

"I think it's cheating if you tag someone who can't use their hands," you beamed. "So, you guys aren't mad?"

"Mad? I think the only one who's mad is Allura, and Coran, but that's just because he's sucking up to Allura," Pidge commented as she sat in front of you.

"Shiro's a little mad too, but he hasn't been talking to any of us, so I don't think he's mad at just you," Hunk added as he continued to lean against the wall.

"Plus, if it makes you feel better, Keith's part galra," Pidge shrugged.

"Wait, are you serious!" you marveled. You looked to see a taken back Keith.

"That wasn't your information to share...Katie!" Keith mimicked an explosion with his hands after finishing his sentence. You looked confused until you realized that Pidge's real name turned out to be Katie, based on Pidge's reaction. All you did was raise your eyebrows at her and tilt your head. You continued to joke around for a bit before Hunk came to a realization.

"Hey, has anyone seen Lance recently?" he questioned. You stopped talking, realizing he had continued to sit behind the control panel for the entire time everyone was in the room.

"Uh, I can't say I have," you nervously laughed. Keith gave you a weird look before continuing talking. "That's the only reason we started playing tag, we were looking for him, then Pidge got bored and wanted to make a game out of it."

"Maybe you guys should keep looking for him," you quickly spoke, trying to get them out of the room so Lance could leave.

"Alright, well then you can come with us!" Pidge beamed as she stood up.

"What do you mean?" you asked.

"I mean, you can come with us, what's the worst Allura can do?" she challenged.

"She can kick you guys out of the castle, trust me, I'm fine down here," your voice shook. You really couldn't let them go over to where Lance was hiding.

"(Y/N), it's cool, let me just remove the cuffs," she began to walk over to the box, you had one last chance, but if they weren't mad about you being a galra, maybe they wouldn't be mad about your possible relationship with Lance. Before you had a chance to make a decision, Pidge walked over to the control panel.

"Okay (Y/N), just give me a second and..." her voice trailed off. "Lance? Is that you?" Everyone looked in her direction with a confused face.

"Hey guys..." Lance croaked while peeking his head up. All four people looked back at you. Pidge was able to remove the metal bands from your wrists before getting confused, so you stood up, fiddling with your fingers.

"I thought you said you didn't know where he was?" Hunk asked.

"I mean I did, but I forgot he was there," you shrugged. You looked over to see Lance's face becoming swarmed with a reddish tone, he rubbed the back of his neck with his seemingly sweaty palm. You all continued to go back and forth with curious questions, not hearing the door opening behind you. You all continued talking before you were interrupted by someone clearing their voice rather loudly. You turned to see no one other than...Allura.

"Would someone care to explain what in Altea is going on in here!"
