I woke up with a hand on mine. ''We're at the hospital.'' I looked up to see Jonah next to me. He seemed to have sobered up pretty well. The door I was leaning on opened up and Corbyn reached out to help me outside. I looked at the car we drove in to see it was a police car. ''So this really did happen.'' I whispered to myself. All of us walked up to the front desk. ''Daniel Seavey.'' Jack said, leaning over the desk. ''Oh, he's in the OR right now, probably won't get out until later this morning.'' We looked at each other. ''You guys can wait in there.'' She pointed at a door that led to a separate waiting area. ''We prepared this for you.'' Corbyn thanked her and closed the door behind us. We sat down on a chair each, me laying my head on Jonah's shoulder.
''This is my fault.''
Everyone looked up from trying to sleep. ''Don't say that, Y/n.'' I shrugged and felt the tears coming back up, just like the memories of the accident. ''I called him over.'' Jack came closer and laid his hand on my knee. ''He didn't remember to look right. It was a simple mistake. It's no one's fault but the driver's.'' I shrugged again. ''He came out of nowhere.'' I looked up to see Jack's soft eyes. ''Where is he?'' He looked at Corbyn. ''The police took him in. He was drunk.'' My heart dropped.
''Who drives drunk!?'' They all shrugged. ''His house was only one street away. It was bad timing.'' I shook my head. ''No, it was stupid!'' My voice got louder and I felt my head beginning to hurt. ''I need some water.'' I got out of the room and walked up to a water fountain next to the front desk.
''Yes, Mrs Seavey. You're son is in the OR at this moment. He got 4 broken rips, a Skull fracture, his left leg is fractured and he lost a lot of blood. We don't know when he's out of surgery but it would be the best if you either fly over or talk to the insurance company to fly him back to the US.''
I choked on my water listening to the conversation. ''Yes, he's here with five other people. No, none of them is called Tyler as far as I'm informed. Yes, Miss Tessley is here.'' I stepped closer to the desk just to get a phone pressed in my hand. ''Mr Seaveys Mother.'' I nodded thankfully. This wasn't how I imagined meeting daniels family. It was the first time talking to his mother besides saying a quick 'hi' to her whenever Daniel called her.
''Hello?'' I heard her breathing pick up. ''Y/n?'' I nodded again, realizing she couldn't see. ''Yes, Hi Mrs Seavey.'' A soft chuckle left her mouth. ''Call me Keri, dear.'' I smiled. ''How are you, Y/n?'' I felt tears streaming down my face. My mouth got dry and I felt like chooking. ''I'm so sorry, Kari.'' My voice broke. ''Darling, don't worry. How are you?'' I shook my head, slowly sitting on the floor next to the water fountain. ''I don't know. Bloody hell. It happened so quick. My mind won't wrap itself around what happened. I still see him laying there on the bloody street not responding to anything.'' Keri listened to every word I said, waiting for me to slowly tell her everything. ''Oh dear. Don't you worry about anything. Daniels dad, Jeff, he called Tyler. He's on his way, just stay put, alright?'' I smiled a little, knowing a family member of daniel is going to be here any moment. ''And you, Y/n, you need to rest, alright? Daniel won't come out of surgery too soon, so you have some time to sleep. I know it's been hell for you and the boys.'' I nodded. ''I could've done more.''
''Darling, you did everything you could. I'm just happy to know that he had you around. He's been talking about you non stop, so knowing the last thing he saw was you, makes me happy. He'll come out of surgery and hopefully see your face. I just know he's waiting for it.''
We hung up not much later with Keri telling me she'd call the insurance company to get Daniel home as soon as possible.
I gave the phone back to the nurse. She smiled softly and seconds later I heard heavy footsteps. ''Y/n!'' I turned around to see Tyler run inside the hospital. He wrapped his arms around me and I felt safe for the first time in hours. ''What happened?!'' He nodded at the nurse, holding me in his arm. ''Daniel got hit by a car. We were on our way back home. I don't know what happened. The car came out of nowhere and just hit him.'' My voice got quiet and I looked at the floor. ''Where're the others?''
I walked towards the room we were put in. I was thankful for the treatment. Staying in the waiting area with people who were waiting for their apointment wasn't exactly what I wanted. I opened the door and saw everyone besides Corbyn, asleep. ''Hey.'' Tyler walked up to the boy who was still awake. ''Tyler, man.'' They hugged and I closed the door. ''Daniel?'' The new addition to our group sat down on one of the empty chairs, Corbyn and I moving ours a little closer to him so we wouldn't wake the others. They all deserved their sleep, but so did we.
''He's been in the OR for the past hour.'' Corbyn leaned forward, speaking in a quiet voice. ''How are you guys?'' Tyler looked at us with a worried face. ''Can't get the picture of him on the ground out of my head.'' Corbyn said, jawning. He really looked tired. I couldn't tell how he was feeling, he was good at acting like he was fine. But deep down I could see how traumatized he was. ''Go get some sleep. I'll wake you guys if something's new.'' Corbyn nodded and closed his eyes, snorring not much later.
I couldn't even think about resting without feeling guilty. ''My mom called the insurance..'' I saw Tyler typing something on his phone. ''And?'' I leaned forward, trying to speak as quiet as possible. ''They're sending a plane right now. As soon as he's stable we're going home.'' I smiled. ''Did you cancel the tour?'' He shook his head. ''Fuck, we need to tell the fans.'' I nodded. ''I'll take care of it, just tell the manager to cancel at the venues, I'll talk to the fans.'' He smiled thankfully and walked outside, calling the boys' tour manager.
