Chapter three: Someone else
-
The force of Jacklyn's outburst had sent the other HYDRA agents into the wall, she was storming over to Albert, her mind focusing on the walls, the sounds of his bones, his breathing, all of it blasting in her ears. She couldn't see ration anymore, didn't hear that voice that told her how to survive, only saw Albert with a knife and her mother's bloodied body. She let's out a blood-curling scream, throwing out her hands in his direction. She felt unlocked, some unknown instinct taking over her. She didn't know what she was doing until after she did it, Albert yelled in agony, he was being attacked from the inside. Jacklyn knew from the sounds he was giving off that every bone in his lower legs were broken, bringing him to his knees, unfortunately, he had gotten what was coming to him. Blinded by anger, Jacklyn lets out another rage-filled scream, around her feet the floor cracks and the ceiling crumbles more rapidly. "Someone stop her!" Albert screams, she turns her head, HYDRA agents were aiming their guns at her. With a shrug of her shoulders, they all fly into the wall, it crumbles on impact, making her more angry. The rage was blinding, she could hear her heart pounding in her ears, it should've scared her if she was in her right mind.
A sudden pain stabs her stomach, Jacklin stops dead in her tracks, finally snapped out of her tantrum. She looks around as her vision clouds, what has she done? Jacklyn looks down to see blood gathering in her shirt, she weakly turns around, Albert was holding out a gun. Her eyes rolled back in their sockets, the adrenaline leaving her and the gravity of what she did weighing down on her all at once. She didn't have a chance to do anything, her consciousness was lost and in the next moment, her body comes in contact with the cold concrete ground.

When Jacklyn awoke, she was in a white room. The room was brightly lit and almost blinding to Jacklyn in her weak state. Her ears were pulsing and there was an aching pain in her stomach. She sat up, looking around. A woman in lab coat was doing something with her back facing Jacklyn, she notes that this woman is the only person in the room with her. She had straight dirty blonde hair that was pinned neatly back, Jacklyn clears her throat and the woman turns around, smiling. Glasses rested on her freckled nose, the glass of her spectacles weirdly accenting her soft blue eyes. Jacklyn was taken aback at he non menacing gesture. "Ah, you're awake." She says, her accent is unlike anything Jackie's heard of. She cocks her head to the side in curiosity. "Your accent, where is it from?" Jackie asked, scooting forward on the bed she was on. "I'm English." She said, walking forward. "What about yours? Where are you from, dear?" She asked, her warmth a stranger to Jacklyn. She blinked in confusion, there's no way this woman's been in Hydra that long, she's too kind. Unless she's faking. "Uhh, here." Jacklyn said, not really knowing truly where. She did not speak the way she does now when she was six, she grew up in Brooklyn but she was smart enough to know that her accent was from elsewhere.
A grim expression crosses the woman's face, knowing that Jacklyn hasn't left this place in a long time. "What's your name, dear?" The woman asks her, Jacklyn looked at her astonished, nobody ever cared about her name, just her capability and compliance. "Jacklyn, what about you?" She asks, twiddling her fingers. "My name is Maradeth, but you can just call me Mary." Mary says, making Jacklyn smile. She leans forward and starts changing the guaze on Jacklyn's hips, making her wince in slight pain. "It's been good to meet you, I'll be your counselor for the rest of your time at HYDRA." Mary says, laying her hand on top of Jacklyn's. Jacklyn quirks an eyebrow. "A counselor? I'm allowed to have one of those?" Jacklyn questioned, slowly taking her hand from under Mary's warm hand. Mary smiled at her, making Jacklyn more wary. She hated how much she trusted Mary just by her smile. The last time she had seen such affection was with her mother, and she barely remembered anything about her. Whether it was the work of Hydra or her poor memory she wasn't sure.
