Chapter one: HYDRA
__

March, 1941

"Hello, Roberts." Albert said, entering into her small, dark cell.

She went rigid with surprise at seeing him, forcing her breathing to remain even with the sight of the man who'd changed her life for the worse. The brunette's eyes swept the floor as he as he sauntered in, and she could feel his eyes burning holes into her skin. Jacklyn had not seen Albert in ten years, didn't even know where he had disappeared to, and seeing him there for the first time in forever had to not be a good thing.

But still, Hydra commissioned the girl to not ask questions, so she simply sat there and waited for whatever fate he may bring.

"You have a mission."

Albert said suddenly, and Jacklyn's eyes suddenly flitted up again to look at him. She had to suppress her surprise, Albert held rank within Hydra, why would he bother himself with something like this? Jacklyn blew out a soundless breath and nodded sharply, not daring to utter a word.

He threw a file in the pale girl's lap and she opened it without question. Flipping through pages of location and details she didn't completely care about at that particular moment, she found the target:

The picture was an usually small twenty-seven year old man with neatly trimmed and styled bright blonde hair. He had cobalt eyes that were very noticeable, even through the poor quality of the photo, and along with the rest of him, his face was slim and skinny.

Jacklyn cocked herself to the side as she read through the endless list of his health difficulties, she seriously doubted this was an assassination, no way Hydra would waste their time with that kid, all you really had to do to take him out was hand him a peanut by the looks of it. Her eyes went back to his age: the guy looked twelve, much less twenty-seven.

Realizing she'd been studying the file in Albert's presence too long, she skimmed the rest of the information quickly with plan to go over it again later.

Steven Grant Rogers was to be given something known as the Super Soldier Serum, something HYDRA had been trying to remake and pumped into her veins. Jacklyn's mission was to retrieve the serum at all costs, a man disguised as an SSR doctor would be there to trade it off to her at the rendezvous point.

Location: Brooklyn, New York.

She tried not to frown at the mention of her hometown, forcing herself to swallow and look at Albert as she closed the file.

Seeing that she was done, Albert quickly tossed a set of clothes next to her, his composure nearly bored.

"Get dressed. You have ten minutes." Albert said sharply, before turning swiftly toward the door, Jacklyn watched him as he left without another word, hating how easily he just crept back into her miserable life. He'd stuck around for year after he'd taken her hostage, training her and commissioning her, and then he'd just disappeared.

Only to reappear as swiftly as he arrived.

But that wasn't like Albert, nor was it Hydra, something big was coming, and she had a feeling it started with Steven Rogers.

With a deep, shuddering sigh, she grabs her mission gear and changed quickly into the black stretchy pants and black leather jacket. She put on the army boots and the fingerless gloves. Everything fit her perfectly, and it was actually pretty comfortable all things considered; it was designed so she'd be able to maneuver swiftly but also kick ass, and it's use worked well.

But Jacklyn hated these clothes, what she had to do when she wore them.

When she was done changing, Jacklyn sat on, playing with the locket around her neck. The girl's cell was always dark, it smelt like dew and was very, very cold. She knew that was the result of the poor heating system as it always got this way during winter.
