Appearance: Hair on body is more harsh and wiry than on belly, long tail tapers at tip and almost touches the ground, feet are compact with short hair between toes, eyes have gentle expression, strong neck is well developed, varies in color.
Good with children, not for urban livinf, thrives in cold weather, easy to train, good with other animals.
History: The recorded history of the wistful looking Deerhound begins in the Middle Ages, when Scottish chieftains used it for hunting. The collapse of the clan system in 1746 threatened the breeds existence, until it was revived by a local breeder, Duncan McNeil.
