Appearance: Coat is short and smooth, sure-footed feet are moderately small, thick hindquarters provide power for rapid acceleration, deep chest gives excellent space for large lungs and heart, flat forhead, small eyes are set foreward, tail is long and lean.
Good with children, not for urban living, thrives in warm weather, little to no grooming needed, lots of exercise needed.
History: An indigneous sighthound of India, the Rampur Greyhiund may be related to the Afghan Hound, but its smooth coat suggests that it is probably a close relative of the Sloughi. The breeds form was considerably altered with the introduction of Greyhound blood in the 1800s.
