It's been 17 days since school ended for the summer, and 17 days since Lucas told me he wouldn't be coming back next year. I held onto my pillow tightly as I let my tears flow down my cheeks while I opened my laptop to watch something on YouTube. 6 minutes after I watched Red Velvet's new comeback music video, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I paused the video and took out my phone. My eyes lit up when I saw who sent me the message.
Lucas: (y/n) u there?
I smiled and texted back.
(Y/n): hi lucas ^^
Lucas: I'm sry I have to leave next year idk why my mom is making me transfer schools😞
(Y/n): its ok. But same here SOPA is a great school
Lucas: ikr
Lucas: I rly am gonna miss u
Lucas: in fact I already miss u
When Lucas said that, I blushed a faint red.
(Y/n): I miss u too...
Lucas: hey, are u gonna be free this weekend? :)
I grinned and accidentally let out a shriek, and my sister asked, "(y/n)! Are you okay?" "Yep!" I shouted to her downstairs.
(Y/n): yeah, why?
Lucas: bc I wanna hang out with u~
(Y/n): Aigoo~ ur too cute u big baby😆
Lucas: ofc I am ;)
(Y/n): stfu😂
Lucas: fine fine fine
Lucas: but ur still free this weekend right?
(Y/n): yup

I was so excited to see him again. When I reached Lucas' house, he was already waiting on the steps leading to his house. "You're looking beautiful," Lucas said once he saw me. I blushed. "Thank you," I responded, smiling. Then he ran down the stairs to envelop me in a warm hug, and then grabbed my wrist as he led me into his house. "You want something to drink, (y/n)?" Lucas asked me as I smoothed my jumper when I sat down. "Yeah, that would be nice thanks," I grinned. A minute later, Lucas came back with two glasses filled with lemonade and sat down next to me. I felt the tip of my ears get a little hot, because I never sat this close next to Lucas before. Then he turned to me and smiled. My heart melted. He's like a huge teddy bear to me! Anyways, "So how's your summer so far, (y/n)?" Lucas asked me. "Pretty good," I answered calmly as I took a sip of my lemonade. "That's nice." "Yeah." It was quiet for several minutes, since we didn't know what to say. Then out of the blue, Lucas asked me, "Hey, you wanna know who put all those notes in your locker?" "You mean the romantic ones or the mean ones? "The romantic ones." he said, smiling shyly. "Yeah, sure!" "Well...they were, uh, from me. I hope you're not upset..." I blushed. "Lucas...I didn't think you'd have any feelings for me...you always acted so friendly and funny, I didn't think you would like me!" Lucas shrugged sheepishly. "Well, now you know how I feel." I reached over and hugged him, my cheek pressed against his, allowing me to feel the heat of his cheek rising. "W-well I like you too, Lucas. Don't forget that, okay?" I whispered. He nodded, and then without a warning, he turned me to face him and leaned into me, and his lips pressed against mine. My eyes widened in shock, but soon I smiled into the kiss, his lips soft against my own. Then we pulled away, his eyes glimmering and mine filled with shining tears waiting to fall. "Th...that was nice, wasn't it (y/n)?" Lucas asked quietly. I nodded, still mesmerized by the kiss. Then I nuzzled his neck and curled up next to him as he wrapped his arms around me and let me sit there in the midst of his comfort. "I love you, (y/n). That's what I've been wanting to say this whole time." I smiled. "I love you too, Lucas."
Several months later, April 2018
"Whoa, (y/n!)" my best friend, Arin, called. "Come look at NCT's new comeback!" I walked over to my friend, who was holding out her phone and waving to me. "Hi Arin," I said calmly. She giggled and pulled me down to sit next to her.Then she began to play the video. "Oh cool, looks dramatic," I said, and we laughed. "Black on Black is the name of it. All of the members are featured!" "Really?" I asked her. She nodded. "Cool!" We were probably at the 1:45 mark when I noticed someone familiar. "Whoawhoawhoa, Arin pause the video!" "Hm?" Arin said, looking confused. "Look at that guy right there," I said pointing to the guy in the middle of the screen. "He looks familiar..." "Well, I can check the member's names online," Arin said. I grinned at her. "Yeah that would be good!" I said.
A few moments later, Arin and I saw a group of boys walking through the park with selfie sticks and cameras pointed at their faces. My eyes widened in shock. "Arin...is...is that NCT?" I asked her. "...OHMYGOD YES IT IS" Arin whisper-shouted. Some of the boys looked over in our direction. Then they walked over to us, smiling because they knew we were familiar with them. I could see someone...far too familiar for me...could it be... Lucas? By the time they reached the park bench we were sitting on, we were in a long conversation already. The group of boys introduced themselves as Doyoung, Winwin, Yuta, Jaemin, Jaehyun, and..... Lucas. And as if on cue, both my eyes and Lucas' widened, and I was up in the air held by Lucas' two strong arms. I laughed and cried as I hugged his neck. "Yah, Lucas! Why didn't you tell me you were gonna become an idol? You still could've stayed in my school!" I laughed as I wiped my tears away. "That's another thing I wanted to tell you. I was only gonna be gone for a few months since I had to train for my audition for SM, and once I got in, I promised myself I would go back to SOPA. So guess what, (Y/n)? I'm coming back to school!" Lucas explained. My eyes widened again (oh my god who knows when my eyes will fall out with all this eye widening) and I shrieked with happiness as I hugged him once more. "Thank you for coming back," I said, my words muffled by his shirt. "Well I couldn't leave my precious (Y/n) behind, could I? Surely you couldn't handle school without me." He chuckled and I punched his arm. "Lucassss!" I whined and he laughed again, this time kissing my forehead. "I'm just kidding! Jeez, (y/n), you take everything so literally!" "Hey, so like, should we leave you guys to do your lovey-dovey stuff? Or..." Jaehyun said innocently. Lucas and I blushed because we were totally unaware the rest of the people here (including Arin) were watching us. "Uh....I don't know. I mean if you want to stay, then stay," I said awkwardly and laughed. Then they all laughed at my awkwardness. I laughed too, until I felt myself being pulled into Lucas' chest. "Hm?" I said. "I missed you, (y/n). I never forgot about you, and I talk about you all the time. I love you, (y/n). So much." Lucas whispered. I blushed. "I...I love you too.." I whispered back. Lucas held me at arms-length and looked at me, then laughed. "You're the reason why we walked to this area anyway! And you changed a lot too!" He exclaimed. "I mean, is it me or did your beautiful hair get brighter?" I blushed a faint pink and laughed. "Yeah, I dyed my hair. You like it?" I said, tossing my hair to add some sass. It made Lucas laugh, and I smiled. "Yeah! I like it. A lot." I smiled. After that, we all walked together, also meeting some of the other members too, and I held Lucas' hand as he held mine. We smiled at each other. I am so glad he's back.
