11. xiaojun: leaves

Sorry for not updating this book so much. With so many applyfics I'm a part of and having to update my own books and being inactive for a while, I haven't been able to update this book and so many other books. Hopefully you guys will understand!

I walked out from under the bridge, the dry autumn leaves crunching beneath my sneakers. It was a beautiful autumn day. The breeze was soft, the sun was out it wasn't burning hot, and the air was crisp and sweet. I looked to my right, where the street was lined with shops and restaurants and houses. On my left, children were playing with their friends, pets, parents, or siblings. They giggled and rolled around in the leaves. I smiled. It was the perfect day.

I was so into the beauty of the trees and nature that I wasn't watching where I was going. I bumped into a guy, who was probably the same age as me. I stumbled back, and so did he.

"H-hey! Could you watch where you're going?" He said, picking up his book And finding a bench to sit on.

"Sorry..." I said, and picked up my bag which had fallen when I bumped into him. I went to sit down on a bench and took out a bottle of water. The guy must have felt sorry for yelling at me so he walked towards me and apologized.

"Um...sorry for seeming so rude back there." He said. I looked up. Because I didn't look at him before, I noticed that his eyes gleamed in the sunlight. I smiled. "It's alright. I'm Y/N by the way." I replied. He smiled. "That's a nice name." He sat down next to me. My heart began to race, but I didn't know why. Yes, he was good looking, but I had only met him and so it was kind of strange. But I stayed calm and looked at him. "Thanks! What's your name?"

"I'm Xiaojun." He told me. He bent down and picked up a leaf. "Here!" He gave me the leaf. It seemed childish of him to do that, but I found it cute. The leaf was a deep red with specks of orange and yellowish-gold. It wasn't ruined at all, and I was surprised about that. I smiled. I was about to put it in my pocket when he grabbed my hand. "No no no! Don't put it there!" He said. We were both silent for a moment, before he took the leaf and put it in my hair behind my ear. "There. It looks much nicer now!" He said and grinned. I tilted my head. "But it was pretty even before you put it in my hair!"

"Yeah, but now it looks prettier since you have it."

"...Your point is?"

Xiaojun smiled at me. His smile seemed softer than it did before, and you could even see the brown in his eyes as the sunlight passed over them.

"The leaf is prettier now since it makes you look beautiful."
