9. yuta: rumor

A/n: oof it's been a while since I've done this
(And there we have another song title :3)

The bell rang, signaling the beginning of lunch. Great, I thought. More teasing, and no one to sit with. I sighed as I gathered my things and made my way to the cafeteria in my school.

I got my lunch and decided to eat it outside. I began to eat, but it wasn't too long before I heard some giggling behind me.

"Eating by yourself again, huh?" Seungbi said from behind me. I didn't turn around. I just nodded slowly. Seungbi walked towards me and pulled my hair, my head jerking back and facing the sky. I winced in pain.

"Look at me, you idiot!" she shouted. I looked up at her face, holding in my tears. Her face was red with fury, but I didn't know why.

"Look, I know what happened between you and Yuta. I don't know why you were dating him, because he was dating me! He doesn't love you! He never even wanted you! So get lost or else you're gonna have bad luck." Seungbi growled. I was too scared to move, so she slapped my cheek. Hard. I winced again.

"What did I say?! Get out of here! No one likes you!"

I sighed and picked up my lunch and moved far away from Seungbi and her friends, who were calling me names as I walked away.

I sat at a table near one of the doors leading to the school, and let some tears fall as I ate. My breath was shaky everytime I swallowed, and I wiped my eyes with my sleeve.

"(Y/n), are you okay?" someone asked softly. I looked up. Yuta was sitting right in front of me.
I hadn't realized he had sat down in front of me.

"Go away..." I mumbled, still wiping my tears.

Yuta frowned. "(Y/n)! Tell me what's going on!"

I looked up at him, my eyes red. "Why? You don't love me as much as you love Seungbi, don't you? You never liked me, did you? You weren't even dating me!" I cried. Yuta looked heartbroken. He suddenly walked to my side and kneeled down to hug me. I hesitated to hug back at first, but then I did.

"(Y/n)...you can't be believing everything Seungbi says, okay?" Yuta whispered softly. "She's just jealous. She lied to you and lots of other people that she was dating me. It was never true. I even went to those people and told them it was a lie and that I was dating you," he explained while stroking my hair. I sniffed and hugged Yuta tightly.

"Thank you for not leaving me..." I said.

Yuta smiled and kissed my head. "I would never leave you. You are too precious for me to lose."

I blushed and smiled. Yuta got up and sat in front of me, and began to eat his food too. I ended up being happy again and had someone to talk to. I was so glad I met Yuta.
