Stevie had gone to sleep with nothing but the new baby in her mind. She was actually really excited. She felt a more positive energy within this baby and after what the older woman had told her in the hospital. She just had to have faith. She did have a better feeling because, it was a baby with somebody important. She loved Lindsey a lot and she had hoped to find somebody that she could love unconditionally and that's how she felt with both Lindsey and Exavior. Her natural inclination was to help Exavior with his speech and help Lindsey because she could see he needed that help. Much like her, it was hard to find the time for really important things. So stepping in was her first step to loving him. She had also come to realize that the love she had for Donovan was nothing but stupid, teen love.

She'd met him at the age of nineteen and she failed to realize all of the bad he held. She knew his drug addiction and drinking caused his actions and when he put his hands on her to try and hurt her she knew it was all wrong. He tried to blame her for something she didn't intentionally do. As she had told the doctor, it had taken her four years to finally realize that losing her first baby wasn't her fault. With all of the bad and past thoughts---she was ready to move forward. She was ready to step up and do everything she could to make sure her baby was safe and sound.

When the next morning arrived Stevie decided to call in sick for work. She still wasn't feeling amazing and she knew it was because of the baby. She now realized she could've been over exerting herself and the baby was trying to tell her to take it easy. She decided to do some things around the house and take care of her dog. She had really been neglecting her dog and she felt Jackie needed some attention. She was also going to go to her parents' place to hang out and let them see for themselves that she was okay. She figured even the minor thing that wasn't much would have them on the edge of their seats.

...

Pulling up to their place she had parked right out front. She knew it was just her parents and her brother was probably at work helping Lindsey and Robin. She walked up her parents' small pathway and knocked on the door. Normally she and her brother would just walk in, but it was noon and she didn't want her parents freaking out.

"Hey baby girl, how are you?" Jess took his daughter in a short embrace as he allowed her in. He shut the door right behind her.

"I'm okay," she nodded. "I was just under the weather and it'll soon pass. Exavior had the same bug..." she lingered. She had thought it was strange that Exavior had gotten sick too. That's what made her and Lindsey think it was some stomach virus.

"That's good. Your brother said they drew blood...?"

"Oh yeah, I was feeling really lightheaded and I fainted. But I promise I am okay."

"There's my baby! oh my little girl," Barbara came out and wrapped her arms tightly around her child. "How are you feeling? are you okay? have you you eaten? what did the doctors say?" she asked in full concern as she examined her blindly.

"Mom! please calm down. I am perfectly fine. I just had a bug and working made me over exert myself. I can assure I am fine," she said calmly. Stevie broke from her mother's tight hold and was finally able to---at least, wrap an arm around her. The truth was, she was fine. She was more than fine---aside from nervous. She tried to push the scared and nervous feeling aside. She didn't want anything to happen.

"Anyway, are you hungry?" Barbara asked her daughter.

"Mm... no," she shook her head. She wasn't too hungry but she also didn't want to risk getting sick in front of her parents or they would know something was wrong. She had noticed the scent of some food was making her totally sick and she didn't know what her mom had to offer. "I've not really had an appetite," she added. "Do we have tea?" she asked sweetly.

"We do," her mother kind of laughed. "Hot or iced?"

"Iced sounds good, please," she smiled. She then sat down at the table and her dad sat next to her. There, they began some conversations. They always talked so nicely together and the only time it got to a point when she wanted to leave---was when her mother would try and force her to think about things. Her mother would try to manipulate sometimes and she hated that.

When three-thirty rolled around, Christopher and Lori were pulling up in the driveway.

"Hey sis?" Christopher smiled as he entered. He put a hand on her shoulder and gently nudged her.

"Hey guys, how are you?" Stevie smiled back as she drank her tea.

"We're good," Lori stated. "Lindsey said he would drop by to see you here."

"Okay," she kind of nodded. In the back of her mind she was kind of thinking why he would do that. "Oh gosh! I have a speech therapy session with Exavior," she recalled it being Thursday. Her whole week had been off from sleeping the whole weekend. All her days had faded into one mess and she couldn't figure out what day it was.

"I know that's why he said, he would come here. He said, you told him you'd be out and about. He said, he would bring the kid here so you wouldn't have to rush back home," Christopher replied.

"That's sweet," her mother commented.

"Yeah..." Stevie kind of trailed in thought. She knew she had to tell Lindsey about his baby. But she still wanted to wait. He was in her thoughts since she found out in the hospital. The only guys she wanted to please and make happy. She had to tell him, it was intrical. She just couldn't tell him tonight. Her family was around and the only ones to know were her brother, Lori and Robin. She didn't want to chance her parents finding out. Not yet at least.

...

Pretty soon the evening was coming around and Lindsey had finally got to Barbara and Jess' house.

Exavior was walking in front of Lindsey but soon motioned to be picked up. He wanted to ring the doorbell.

"Here you go, buddy," Lindsey lifted him up and then put him down after he rang the bell.

Stevie opened the door and smiled at the sight of them. "Hi?"

"Hey? how are you feeling?" he asked sort of relieved to see her.

"A lot better," she nodded to add assurance. She stepped aside and allowed Exavior and Lindsey in. Barbara, Jess, Christopher and Lori would surely keep Exavior entertained for the short time until Stevie would start her therapy session. She and Lindsey spent a little time talking, but she never once gave any indication she was pregnant and she kept her lips shut tightly. She wanted to assure herself everything would be okay.

This chapter is shorter but I wanna get the next part on another chapter. Should be posted by tonight.
