At nighttime, Stevie and Lindsey were finally home and getting the kids settled in their room. Lindsey took Stevie's shift, so he could change the baby and dress her for the night. Stevie then would read to Exavior before bed and get him ready. He had grown to love reading so much since Stevie taught him to do so well. Normally at night Stevie got Cyane ready for bed and put her down, before helping Exavior get tucked it. He was eight years old and he got himself ready but he still liked to be read to.
When Stevie and Lindsey got settled in their room to finally go to sleep, she knocked out first. She was content, being in his arms.
In the early morning, the phone started ringing.
Lindsey answered it and he sounded groggy doing so. He only answered to get the news that Natalie was going into labor at two in the morning. Gregory was frekaing out and he needed help. Ruth was present to help Natalie, though they were the only three. Gregory would drive them to the hospital, but he needed his little brother who had gone through it twice already. Lindsey had assured he would be there. Gregory also pointed out that Natalie wanted Stevie present and that had already been talked about between the women.
During the phone call, Stevie was already getting up and throwing some clothes on, so they could make their way.
Stevie and Lindsey would drop the kids off at Christopher and Lori's, so they could rush over to the hospital.
…
"Your brother is so frantic, that he is making Natalie nervous," Ruth said to her son who was just entering the building.
"I'll go get him," Lindsey responded.
"And Natalie wants you," she told Stevie.
Stevie nodded and headed to the given room. When she got there, Natalie was being coached by a nurse and her eyes widened with relief when she saw Stevie.
"Thank God, you're here," Natalie sighed. "Greg was making nervous and I am trying go be calm."
"I'm sorry. Lindsey is trying to calm him down," she took the younger girl's hand---preparing to help her. She knew birthing was a hard thing and she wanted it to be simple for her---even though it was one of the hardest things to do.

"Calm the fuck down," Lindsey was trying to be assertive with his brother since he wasn't listening.
"I can't do this, I don't know what would make me think I could do this," Gregory continued.
"You agreed because you knew you could, so relax. You're gonna be fine."
"Bro, Exavior didn't like me for the longest time, what if my kid hates me?"
"Exavior didn't like you because, he didn't know you. He knows you now and since knowing this news, you have calmed down. Exavior is great with you now."
"Lindsey, I don't think--"
Lindsey slapped him hard across the face. "You are an athlete who can take on anything. Go coach your wife," he said---sounding tougher on him.
"Okay," he assured and made his way down the hall, feeling more cool. He and Stevie would then be there for Natalie. Stevie would stay, just in case Gregory had a weak moment. But things had gone by smooth and Gregory stayed calm.
…
Some time went by and Stevie was approaching the lobby, where Lindsey and his mom were seated.
"Hey?" Lindsey smiled at her.
"Hi, the baby was born and Gregory is very calm and happy. He cried and your gonna love your new grandson," she told Ruth.
