Stevie sucked her lips in as she waited for more from her mother.
"Barbara, it's getting late---let's leave them," Jess responded to the scene.
"For sure, make yourself at home and--"
"Let's go, Barb," he ushered his wife in the other direction. "Chris is in the room," he added to his daughter.
"Thank you," Stevie responded. She was grateful her father wasn't like her mother and she would have a moment of peace. "I'm sorry for that," she said sincerely.
"No problem," he chuckled.
"Anyway, it is very late---do you wanna take Exavior home?" she asked concerned. It was gonna be eleven and she was afraid his son was tired.
"Yeah, would you like to come to my place? we've been at yours for the passed two---I don't mind," he assured.
"Um, sure," she smiled. "Why don't you wait in the car? and I'll be right out."
"Sounds good," he smiled. He was thrilled she was coming to the house. He just wanted to welcome her into his life, so bad. "C'mon, kiddo---" he took his son's hand.
Exavior let his dad guide him out without a word because, he understood Stevie was coming.

Stevie then rummaged through the hallway to first find her brother.
"'Ey?" she whispered as she pushed her brother's door open.
"Sup?" Christopher smiled as he smoked his joint.
"Look, I have to yell at mom," she tossed her house keys at her brother. "Feed Jackie and make sure she has water, I'm going to Lindsey's right now---you can chill at my apartment. If we know mom she'll start complaining as to why you don't have a girl."
"You're the best sister," he said halfheartedly through half dazed nod.
"Yep, remember that. Call a cab---I left money on the counter. Go say hello to Lindsey and Exavior while I get a rundown of life by mom."
"'Kay, thanks," he hopped up from his bed and planted a kiss on his sister's cheek. He then went to call a cab and say, hi to Lindsey and Exavior.
"Mhmm," she let out a light sigh. She then collected her thoughts and knocked on her parents' bedroom door.
Barbara opened the door with a wide smile.
"Mother," Stevie whispered harshly.
"What? I am so happy," she beamed.
"Mother, we just went on a date," she explained. "I don't know if this is gonna work out, but I really hope it does---so I need you to do me the biggest favor of your life..." she grasped her mother's hands.
"Anything, what?" she smiled.
"Never speak to him," Stevie said bluntly.
Jess sneered in the background.
"What?" her mother asked appalled by the statement.
"Look, I love you so much---both of you and I just can't have anything happen. He is my co-worker and I happen to enjoy his company, like a lot and it's taken me weeks to even up the courage to go out with him. Okay?"
"Okay..." her mother sighed.
"Thank you, mommy. I love you and I just want to make you happy," she stretched the truth. She really could have cared less what her mom thought, but she did want to stop the nagging. "And please... no questions! because, everytime I bring you a friend to meet, you hammer me with questions everytime you see me."
