He watched them burn. He watched them scream. He watched as the fire covered them whole. Those were warlocks. Witches. People with magic. Sins. They are wicked, forces of evil that should be destroyed.

John watched alongside his mother and father, remourse filling his soul as he watched as they burned. One witch looked towards the small child. Her eyes lit blue, and John felt himself floating.

His spirit was pushed through the forest, dodging trees and climbing hills until he was pushed through a little rock chamber where many potions and skins were. In the corner laid a boy, his hair white as snow going along to match his skin.

His left eye glowed bright maroon red while his right glowed saphire. John made sure to remember this path.

His spirit returned to his body. The woman hung there, eyes still focused on Johns. She muttered words that seemed to drift towards him, words that he could only hear.

"Save my baby."

John tried for months. He tried for months to sneak out, and when he did he searched high and low for that rock cavern.

He was now 15, his father finally thinking it was time for him to go hunting.

"Alright boy lay low, gun up and sit still." John did just that, a pit in his stomach as a deer walked out into the field. John held his breath, finger on the trigger as he aimed. His hands shook as he dropped the weapon. The deer took notice and pranced away.

Johns father groaned in annoyance. "You had her, Johnathan. How could ya let a perfectly good deer out of your hands. Gimmie my gun, get out of my sight."

Johns father snatched the gun from from his hands, placing himself in the spot John once was. John walked into the little cottage he lived in and made his way to his room. He grabbed a bag and a blanket, making his way into the kitchen. He grabbed some bread and water in a small jug in the bag over his shoulder.

Today was the day. He could feel it. He just hoped the little boy wasnt dead. "Hey mom! Im heading out!" "Be back before sunset dear!"

John made his way out of the home, hearing a gun shot from the back of the house. He winced, god how he hated that sound.

John made his way into the center of town and stopped in front of the same crosses that burned people to the stake. No other witches or warlocks were found after that day, so the crosses stood.

He breathed in the air, the mental map that he remembered made its way in his head and went along his journey. He treked through the branches and ducked under low ones. It was getting dark, but he was so close. He knew he was, it was right- "Here!"

Johns heart quickened as he found the rock caveren. The door that was shut tightly was suddenly burst open as an explosion was heard. A boy that looked about 10 popped out, coughing and waving the smoke away from his face.

"Gosh dangit. I was close with that one too. What am I doin wrong momma."

He didnt notice John yet. John saw the boys eyes fall onto his. Nevermind.

With quick feet, the boy ran back inside, John was quick to follow. "H-hey wait wait! Im not here to hurt you!" "Says you. Your people killed momma and poppa. They did nothing wrong!"

John couldnt retort with that. "I-I know, but Im not like them. Y-you know your momma? She told me to come find you, to come save you." The boy peeked his head out, curious heterochromatic eyes staring back at me. "She did? How? Where is she?"
