Happenstance

Chapter II

As soon as homeroom was over, the five students settled in their seats while waiting for their next teacher. Ally, Brooke and Mars were seated in the middle row while Anya and Yanna seated at the last row.

Ally: Ugggh.. My legs are aching we've been standing in the hallway for an hour.

Brooke: I might need to go to the clinic after the last period.

Mars: Didn't you forget that were still going to detention.

Brooke: Are we even close? Stop joining in our conversation.

Mars: That's what they all say

He was looking around the room when he saw Anya who was still using her phone. He decided to approach the 2 girls at the back.

Mars: After being punished, you still have the guts to watch that. What are you watching?

Anya: Oh. It's just another episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved. I've been intrigued to this since summer.

Ally and Brooke followed Mars. They too were interested of the 2 girls who were incredibly silent and who decided to stay at the back seats in the room.

Ally: Oh you watch those episodes too? I usually watch anything that has to do with history.

Ally and Brooke shared some glances before approaching Yanna who was still silent during this whole conversation. She didn't even noticed the people who were starting to crowd around them.

Ally: What's keeping you silent.. Yanna was your name right?

Yanna: I was busy reading a book before the 3 of you were suddenly noisy enough to bother me.

Yanna wasn't really used to attention and she hates being bother especially if she was doing something she enjoyed.

Ally: Oh. We're sorry if we interrupted you. We just want to be friends, after all we all were punished earlier right.

Just when they were about to start having an interesting conversation, the next teacher arrived. Fast forward to dismissal, the 5 once again met at the Guidance Office. They were tasked to do a bit of paperwork before they were allowed to go home.

Ally: Since we're all here, why don't we tell some bits about ourselves?

Brooke: Yeah that's a good idea.

Mars: I'll start.

Brooke: Were you even part of this conversation.

Ally: Oh Brooke just let him join in.

All of them shared a few trivia about themselves. They didn't know that they had quite a lot in common. One of few examples is Ally, Brooke and Yanna love reading. Anya and Mars enjoy watching mystery videos. They were too absorbed to notice the time. They almost didn't want to go home.

They packed up their things and they decided to walk around the school for a few minutes.

Anya: I hate commuting. It's always so traffic during this time of the day.

Ally: Tell me about it. I would give anything just to be home as soon as possible. Where do you guys live? Our house is like 3 hours from here.

Yanna: Wow 3 hours. It usually takes me 20 minutes to travel home from here.

Mars: Me too.

Brooke: No one was asking you. Anyways, It usually takes me an hour or two to travel home but our house is by the south area.

Anya: Well that's a shame. I live in the northern area.

Ally: Me too. Why don't we go home together?

Anya: Sure. I love that idea. Finally I won't be scared in crossing the street by myself

Ally: What you're afraid of crossing the street

Anya: No. You misheard me. I mean I'm glad I have somebody to accompany me.

Even though they were privilege, they always find ways to seem independent to their parents. A simple thing like going home by on your own is already a big thing to them.
