Chapter IV

 The first 2 months were over. They were all having a great time when they barely notice Mrs. Villegas by the door. All the students were startled when Mrs. Villegas came in the room with a serious expression on her face.

Mrs. Villegas: As you all know, the first quarter is almost over. You will all be taking your first set of exams before the start of second quarter.

(Freedom International High school has a quarterly system for the high school students)

Anya: Studying is one of the reasons why I don't want to go home. Imagine learning some lessons that you already don't understand and you're forced to understand so you can pass a freaking exam.

Ally: Anya just chill, I'm sure we can think of a way so all five of us will pass.

Brooke: Why don't we have a study session? We will have it at the nearby café, it will be a nice place to study plus the ambiance is just wonderful.

Mars: I want to join too; I'm surrounded with too many temptations at home so I can't even concentrate.

Ally: I love that idea. How about you Yanna do you want to come? I'm sure you can study on your own but you can always try a new way of studying.

Yanna: I'll join in; I think it's a fun idea.

Afterschool, they all went to the café. The café is named Cozy Fritters Café. The café is also owned by the school so technically they aren't really leaving the school premises.

Ally: Ok, so what should we study first?

Anya: Let's study Math. I hate it and I honestly want to cry if I look at any equation.

Ally: Brooke, Mars I know among the five, you guys have the highest scores in Math so why won't you team up and teach us. I will handle teaching History and English while Yanna will teach us Filipino and Christian Living. As for you Anya, you can help in drawing out the information.

Anya: You're just saying that because I'm not really good in any subject.

Ally: Says the girl who usually has high scores in all subjects.

Anya: Well, it's really just luck. Anyways, let's just start studying.

Brooke and Mars were really having a hard time teaching because they taught Math in different ways. They decided to tutor them one on one. Anya decided to draw a timeline of the World War 2 since Ally already gave her key notes to it. They all studied well and they were having a fun time doing it.

Ally: You know what we've been hanging out for a while now but we really don't bond with each other outside school premises.

Brooke: Is that even necessary?

Ally: Of course it is! It will be like our own unique group name. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anya: I don't.

Mars: How about The Late Comers I mean it is the reason why we all met.

Brooke: It's a dumb name.

Yanna: Whatever our name is, we will sure figure it out along the way I mean its still 2 months of school after all.

Anya: Think about it guys after exam, we have more time to reward ourselves. Let's go somewhere.

Ally: The exams aren't even starting yet you're already thinking of slacking off.

Anya: Why not? It will be our motivation to study even harder.

Mars: Well I think going out is a fun idea if I'm ever allowed to go.

Ally: Mars, why aren't you allowed to go out?

Mars: My parents are a bit strict.

Ally: Gosh you're a guy Mars you should at least be allowed to go out at least once a month.

Mars: Yeah I know. I usually just obey them you know.

Brooke: So where should we go out guys?

Ally: I know! This Saturday, our batch is going to the mall for a seminar about choosing our future careers right. Why don't we go around the mall after that?

Brooke: That's a great idea.

They were all very excited for their very first outing together as a group. They studied all week so that examinations will just be a piece of cake.

A few weeks later they received their test papers.

Anya: I'm glad we all passed our exams; I can't wait to go to the mall!

Ally: I'm excited too. It's really weird me out to wear my uniform in public. Let's shop some clothes so that we might as well look decent at the mall.

Brooke: As if the mall even cares about our outfits.

Mars: I'll bring my camera so we can document it and maybe have a small photo shoot.

Ally: I love photo shoots!
