Casper and Ares went with them to their classroom. They were astonished to see all the fun costumes and the ambiance made them feel like they were in another world.

Casper: Why didn't you guys tell me it's a costume themed café? I might have worn my costume in coming here.

Ares: But then again Casper we didn't know they went to this school until this morning.

Casper: I know but still. Hey let's go order some food I'm so hungry.

Ally and Brooke were the ones who attended to Casper and Ares. They were a bit embarrassed of what they were wearing but they still acted professional towards them.

Ally: Welcome gentlemen to our humble café can we interest you in some food and drinks?

Brooke: Our menu is especially made to suit everyone's palette. Please select anything of what you think is appetizing.

Casper: We will have everything in the menu.

Ares: Casper..

Casper: Just joking

The costume café and bake sale did very well than expected. They have earned twice than their expected donation. They barely beat the rival class though.

Fast forward to the Batch Gathering, every year a batch gathering is held in every level so that they can tell everyone in their batch about their learnings and achievements. Actually it is more of a 2 hour update from each class and then they have a batch party to celebrate their last time together before leaving for summer vacation.

The chair persons of the rival class met up with Ally and Brooke at the back of the school auditorium. They were so embarrassed that they lost the bet that they initially made.

(RC stands for Rival Chairperson)

RC: Well, you guys won. We will accept the punishment that we agreed on.

Ally: You don't need to say that. We won't do that silly crowning of the losers thing.

Brooke: Yeah, we don't want to stoop that low and besides we don't want to seem as the bully here.

Ally and Brooke went on ahead and left the Rival Chairperson speechless.

The five friends partied to their hearts content. They barely realized that it will be summer time soon. Summer time isn't exactly a joyous time for them unlike the other students, their summers is full of unhappy sorrow. They only stay at home and don't do anything fun. Summer time is also the season when all their potential long lasting friendships end. They can't exactly pin point why but that usually happens.

The five friends decided to go to the garden so they can discuss their summer plans together.

Yanna: You know what, I'm not exactly thrilled that summer is coming. It usually saddens me even.

Anya: Me too, well sort of.

Yanna: My so called friends always leave me during the summer. Next thing I know when school starts they abandon me and treat me like I'm some stranger.

Mars: That doesn't exactly happen to me but I usually get out of place since my friends always go out together. I'm not really allowed to go out with them even in the summer.

Brooke: My summer is usually filled with lonely mall outings. I eat by myself, watch a movie by myself even play group games by myself.

Ally: Well my summer is filled with chores. Even if my parents can afford a maid, they always tell me it's good to practice independence. Not like I complain but I do want to have fun for once. We only have 2 months of summer, I don't want it to be cleaning day every day.

They all sighed at the thought of their horrid summer. They sadly looked at each other wondering if this friendship won't last just like their previous friendships.

They silently went to all the places they usually hang out with each other. Think of it like they were on a memory lane full of flashbacks. It makes them want to cry but they don't want to show it.

Ally: Let's make a promise. Let's promise that as the next school year starts and we're already in Grade 10, we will all still be friends.

Brooke: Maybe the 3 of you won't even say a word to Ally and I.

Yanna: Of course won't do that. Hopefully Anya isn't too busy to look up from her binge watching marathon.

Anya: I won't do that maybe but Mars might not hang out with us because he might make new friends.

Mars: I might be busy next year but I will still be your friend.

All four girls were touched by what Mars told them. They spent their last days as Grade 9 students together and they aren't scared of what lies ahead of them.
