My life was like growing grass With a hope of sunshine in mind Waiting to evaporate What raindrops had been left behind
I'll crunch under your footsteps And I'll dance with the wind I have hope set apart With no place to begin
I'll reach up to the sky I'll be a comfort to your mind Lay down beside me And we'll watch the stars collide I'll colour all your senses And I'll wash away your pride
Please just stay beside me I'll wrap you in growing life Until your bones grow weak and weary Until the ground has swallowed your light The world will keep on turning So look into my eyes
Frigid as the cold As your swallowed by the sun I'll hold you tight I'll keep you safe Stay until all battles are won
A grassy hill From sunset to stars We will weep for each other Watch the moon in their arms And to the clouds and the earth Let them hold you at bay You can't leave me now With still so much left to say
You stand up Walk away But take a moment If you may
Listen to my thoughts For all I wish is for you to see To notice every part and piece That breaks when you no longer think of me
But there is hope that survives In the dead of the night It lives in my thoughts Chained in my my mind
All alone At break of dawn I'll wait until something better Decides to come along
