Chapter 3
"I just want them back."
**

I'm in my room, not on the bench laying under the stars with Val. The room is silent, my bed isn't being bounced by my 7 year old brother, and my mother isn't yelling for me to wake up. I roll over and look to see I'm going to be late for school. I huff and go to get off the side of the bed. Being half asleep doesn't help, because I fall off the side and onto the floor. My head hits the edge of the bed, moaning I stand back up. I am not going for a super cool bad girl look today. I'm so down I pull out a slick black sweatshirt with ripped jeans. The sweatshirt has a red rose on the top left and I wear red converse to match it. I brush out my hair and slip a hairband and on my wrist just for precaution.

I head to my bathroom across the hall and brush my teeth. I look in Shawn's room to see mom laying with him, they both snore lightly and hold each other. I smile and work my way down to the kitchen. I pore half a glass of orange juice and drink like there is no tomorrow. I grab my phone and keys and take off to school.

I pull up into the school parking lot and feel off. No fights are happening in front of the doors, instead it's a crowd. I step out and wait for the stares and whispers of how bad I really am. Nope, no people swarm me either. Huh?

I walk up behind the crowd and see what is all the commotion. Three guys stand in the hallway talking to one another.

"Move out of my way!" The crowd parts and lets me walk through. I walk up to the boys and watch how they take me in. I put a smirk on my face and swing my hips. Who are these boys? And why are they in my territory?

"Who is she?"

"Can you get me her number?"

"Can you shut up, she is right there." I watch as the boys whisper in front of me. I raise my eyebrows and wait until they realize that I am standing only a few feet away from them.

"I'm V, no you can't have my number, and yeah I'm right here." I eye all three of the boys with curiosity. And they seem to be doing the same to me.

The one who spoke first wears a gray hoodie and a white shirt under it, with jeans and white converse. The one who wanted my number wears a plain navy shirt and jeans as well with black converse. And the last one who actually realized I'm standing here has on a red beanie with a shirt that has a band that I don't recognize on it. He also wears worn jeans and red converse like mine. But the one thing is they all wear black sunglasses with cute dimpled smirks. They are pretty hot.

"I'm Axel this is Phoenix-" he points to the red beanie guy, "and this is Shepherd."

Shepherd is the one who wanted to know who I am. Axel wears a full grin and I can tell he is the mischievous one, I mean he did ask for my number and didn't even know my name.

"You must be the transfer students Ace told me about."

"Who's Ace?" Axel asks and narrows his eyes, he is jealous, seriously?

"Looks like I have some competition." Ace walks up behind me and throws his arm around my shoulder. I elbow him in the ribs and push him away.

"Ace go flirt with someone else." All the guys shoot daggers at Ace. He notices it and steps in front of me to get a better look.

"I thought we were getting one transfer student, not three."

"Wow! the boy can count." Axel claps his hands sarcastically. My eyes go wide and I feel bad for Axel. He is about to get his slick black hair ripped out of his head. Nobody talks to Ace that way, and he just did. I'm praying for you buddy!

"You better watch how you talk to me, your all three officially on my 'number one target list'.

"Pfft." They all do in unison. Ace sends me one last flirty smile and glares at the guys.
